I'd like to ride in your 55 Chappy to see just how different it is.

No problemo, CiLKY. Let's let some others chime in here too and see when the best date would be.

I'm always up for a scoot in and around GA180, GA60, et al.
A shorter drive (with a nice reward) for the Asheville crew. For the ATL it's one hour up GA400 and all good after that. On Yahoo! Maps, search "Suches" in Georgia.

just an idea...
In 2-3 weeks, stand around and have a meet (Sat or Sun) near Suches or Deal's and go drive GA180 and GA60 or go drive Deal's Gap and then **** dinner.
I'm familiar with GA180 and GA60, we have meets and drive those roads frequently. I know Deal's Gap is supposed to be awesome, but I'm not familiar with the roads or the police situation.
Below are some pics from GA60 and GA180.

Yeah, these are those same roads. No decreasing radius turns, supreme banking.
What they usually do is meet at Perimeter Mall, hang out for an hour oggling each other's rides, and then drive up to the mountains. About 1 hour north of Atlanta. Drive for an hour or two, then find a place to eat.
Some people go to just the meet, some do both the meet and drive.
Instant meet!

No Proposal Chappy just I may meet up with you guys near whatever road you want to go drive. I have some local car guys I can round up who are all cool and respect all cars. They have a 305z, 01 S4 (chipped), e-36 m3's and a 850 T5-R.
If you guys are going to XYZ road and get off I-85 at Exit 123 then I'll try to meet you at that exit or something like that. (all numbers made up for reference pueposes only haha:p )

I'm flexible. What is your proposal?
1. meet
2. drive
3. eat
or any combo? to do all 3 is most all of the day... a simple meet is an hour or so...
----
The north georgia roads from the pics offer 2 solid hours of great driving.
GA180 is about 8 miles of hard mountain driving with wild elevation changes and hairpin U turns. Tough, but fair turns and generous banking. GA160 and Richard B Russell are more countryside runs. I'm not a huge fan of RBR, rough pavement, poor banking and kind if hard to read the turns. ALT75 and GA129 have some nice moments.
Deal's Gap is closer to the Carolina people. A bit of a drive for the Macon people.
----
I rekon we could meet on 85 north of Atlanta and caravan to the mountains, probably an hour through North Atlanta suburbs. This would make the meet a little easier, and people can fend for themselves getting home.
The Deal's Gap thing I was just tossin' out there...

Here's my take on it....
For the first meet, I think it should be simple (kinda like a first date). We meet and get to know each other where we can spend some time, ask questions, take photos and the like. It will give us an opportunity to exchange information and discuss our wonderful 208s! Then, if folks want to do a caravan/drive somewhere fine.
Keep in mind....allenjdmb lives in Macon and CiLKY and smalldog live in NC. I think metro Atlanta is going to be the mid-point/central location. We could meet at Andretti Speed Lab, a coffee house or restaurant/bar.
I know there HAVE to be more than five 208s willing to come. We can always plan other events in the future (including a mountain drive, etc.)
Any thoughts?

Andretti...
would be a good meeting spot. Other car clubs meet there, and you can grab a sandwich or beer or soft drink. If you bring your girl/wife/SO then you can take her for a nice meal before or after. Good suggestion...also D and B's is often a good place to meet, for the same reasons. Keep me posted. Maybe I could bring some 129/230 guys if you want more folks. You may want to keep it 208's only.

Well, it seems we are moving closer to our objective (a GTG). Let's decide on some things. Please provide feedback for the following questions:
1. Location. Andretti Speed Lab, Restaurant/Bar or Coffee House?
2. Date. Please choose Saturday or Sunday.
3. Open to other cars? Or should we limit this first meet to 208s only?
