Cadillac XLR vs. CLK430
this probably should go in the OT forum but....
i pulled up to a restaurant valet last night, right behind a brand new Cadillac XLR hardtop convertible. it was the first one i've seen on the street where i live (los angeles)
the owner put the folding hardtop up right in front of the valets and waiting customers and gunned the engine a couple of times for full effect. it was quite a show - the guy was a total poser.
it took so long that i was standing outside my idling car waiting for a valet. when i got my ticket i heard the manager of the valet go "leave that one here" (mine) followed by "..... and put that SLK in the back..."
he thought the XLR was an SLK
the guy who owned the Caddy had a mini heart attack - or at least it looked like it judging from the look on his face when he heard the guy call his brand new XLR a SLK.
it was priceless.
and you know what? the valet was right - it looked ALOT like a SLK which is 1/2 the price

i have to chime in ... what's so wrong about an SLK even my slow 230 ;-)
and the XLR is alright IMO but its got like SLK230 size brakes and at that price-point the competition is stiff.

EFF YOU JACKIE
Nothing wrong with the SLK, I think the point was that the valet was confused, because it seems every car maker is starting to copy off of a classic MB style.
