99 W208 soft top Please Help me new member.

I bought a 99 clk 320 soft top was not going down the guy told me so.

I tested the pump motor it is working,
I tested the relay it is working,
i tested the ground switch for the trunk luggage cover it is grounding

the latch/solenoid for the back glass to release is working,

This is what happens, i unlock the top at the front, trunk is closed car in park. pull the top switch up, windows roll down, and u can hear the pump then the back glass latch releases and the glass pops up. BUT Thats pretty much it. nothing else happen.

I appreciate any help.

When you unlock the roof, the front bow should raise at least 8" and stay in that position.

The purpose is to open up the roof's frame joints, as shown in the enclosed picture, which will then allow the hydraulic cylinders to open the roof.

The force that raises the bow is provided by pair of tension cables. If the cables have broken, replacement cables are around $90 each.

Thanks for the reply. i will look for the cables, i found out the bow release cylinder is leaking, also the bow lift cylinders have a small leak. i rebuilt the bow release cylinder but what i am going to to do is take all 4 main lift cylinders out and send them for rebuild. and start a new fresh cut that now i have it all apart i am going to do it right. and see what happenes
