I did clean the crap out of my old one before putting it back on and it seems to run better..Last time I sprayed it but may not enough?
Is there a "trick" to cleaning them?
For grins I ordered a MAF off amazon for $25, they said free returns and it's easy to swap so why not If it doens't work I will get the one above, good price

When it comes to any electronics on any car my rule is always by new genuine parts and if you cannot afford new genuine then by second hand but genuine. I have read so many people with reports of what they thought were genuine MAF's but only to find they are not. I have bought OEM MAF's and they both failed after weeks, which was the same for the infamous brake switch. Electronics are far more delicate and precise than mechnical which is why you can get away with a cheaper brand arm or exhaust for example.
For me the question is why is your MAF dirty and what kind of contmination? If it is oily then you need to get to the root of the issue as the air it is monitoring should be dry and clean. Yes you can clean the MAF periodicaly, however this should be done with car and will not like getting constantly cleaned.
Have a look on ebay for genuine Bosch MAF's that are for your chassis number they are pretty cheap now.

I agree
I mainly wanted to see if it would clear my p2098 code and it didn't..Mine was clean..
Still at a loss but have learned if I drive it semi easy and don't let it stay at a constant RPM for long it won't trigger the Check engine light so I got it to pass and got my tag
Now I have more time to fiq this weirdness out..Wondering about fuel pump now since no other codes.

Looking in the code I have read that its either the mass air flow sensor connector becomes contaminated with engine oil, the sensor hot wire becomes fouled with oil or other debris, or the air inlet pipe is cracked or broken allowing unmetered air to enter the engine. Aftermarket mass air flow sensors have also proven to be problematic on this type of vehicle. Faulty oxygen sensors are also fairly common in European models, due to oil fouling in the exhaust system. Other possible causes include an excessively rich fuel condition caused by a faulty fuel pressure regulator, faulty manifold air pressure sensor, or a faulty PCM. This code may also be caused by a lean fuel condition caused from a faulty fuel pump, bad fuel pressure regulator, clogged fuel filter, or engine vacuum leak. Keep in mind that PCM failure is rare. Turbocharged engines present their own symptoms, including fuel contaminated engine oil leaks that are drawn into the induction system. If camshaft or crankshaft sensor codes, ignition misfire codes, or low fuel pressure codes are also present, diagnose and repair them before attempting to diagnose this code. Catalytic converter failure may also contribute to this code being stored.
