When will MB stop making the W208 and begin the W209?

W208 and W209
I believe that production for the W208 Coupe will cease after the first decade of May. Given that the factory needs two weeks before the decade begins on May 1, the deadline for custom orders is now past, and production should end on May 10. The W208 Cab will be available as a 2003, however, I believe production will only run until about December. The W209 Coupe could be available in the U.S. as early as July or as late as September if delayed.

Found relevant info on MB official website under "CLK Articles & Reviews" a MOTORTREND article.

The MOTORTREND article states, that only 500-700 S55, CL55 and CLK55 will come to the USA. Therefore, according to this article, max. CLK55 AMG coupes in the USA would be only 1,400 (2 X 700)since it was only manufactured for two years: 2001 & 2002!

As far as i am aware of, they have stopped production of 208 few months ago. they have already started production of all ranges of 209. I personnaly have driven the CLK500. But i'm not sure if the US market have taken deliveries yet!

C208 (coupe) production stopped a few weeks ago, A208 (cabrio) production continues until at least September, maybe on to December.

I think CLK55s started coming over Sept 00 (no Nav available till Dec 00/ Jan 01.... and stopped early 02 (a little less than 18 months?)
that will indeed be a short run!
