Flat hood emblem...WTF?
Hello all. I just ordered my flat hood emblem from Performance Products and to my disappointment, it’s plastic! Are they all plastic? It looks really cheap. What’s up with that?

Yeah, mine's fake too. I have all replica metal emblems on my 32.

It's aluminized plastic, and some people mistake it for metal... but most people can see it for what it really is!

just to echo the response of Mr. Xristo, they are made of plastic... they just have a painted surface to resemble the look of metal.

The plastic ones definitely aren't painted to look like metal, it is an aluminum layer deposited on the plastic... typically used for "chrome" parts in model kits.
