Lost the metal insert part of my key and want to know what my choices are for replacement? Anybody know what my best and most affordable options are?

As far as I know, the dealership is the only place to obtain a replacement. You might wish to shop around if you have more than one local retailer.

yeah go to the dealer with your registration and drivers license and they'll order you one based on the VIN. Cost me $13 I think.

thank you

Did you mean the metal key within the fob was only approx. $13 from the dealer? That seems like a good deal compared to buying the whole fob for 250 or so...

Pretty optimistic to think it's for the replacement keyfob -- 99% sure this is just for the blade.

If the keyfob could be had for $13 online or in-house, I think the internet would explode from the bandwidth usage from MBW members alone.

Agreed but cant hurt to ask. Before everyone on the planet figured out they'd get the silver smart key and demand shot through the roof, you could get one for $75 shipped. Didnt even have to go to the dealer.

Ahhh the good ole days
