The reason you see the ground is because this bumper is much lower than the original, therefore it doesn't match with the old splash guard under the car. That space allows the light to come through and see the ground.
What I'm looking for now is a plastic piece I can fit between the old splash guard and the new bumper, and it will take care of that problem.

I agree, it is annoying, but I'm working on it. I'll post more photos and how I did it when I find a solution (unless someone here has ideas I can use :-) )

This is good to know, as I was thinking in buying this bumper.

Well, what i meant is the style AMG Monoblock II, not the standard Clk 430 wheel.

I tried that, but it won't bend, and it still wouldn't meet up. GRRRRR.

I'll try to find something to attach in between. The question is - What!

haters crazy
Just go to Home Depot and buy some black plastic and cut it to fit the space and drill it into your bumper and the other plastic piece. Its ghetto but it gets the job done.

No, don't bend it. Just remove the 4 screws. Then push the plash gaurd all the way up to the front bumper then re-drill new hole.

Actually, the the splash guard is higher than the bumper, so I would have to bend it down. I'll have to try it. If not, I'll have to find a piece of plastic to put between the two.

Do you have to bend it downward? Maybe you can just push it all the way toward the front then screw in down onto the bumper.

1) Where did you get it? I can't find a chain B&M company selling these...
2) Do you have any pictures of what it looks like installed?

Viktorious, those two comments you made were exactly what I was thinking.

1. Get some wheels!
2. Lose the badges. There is nothing wrong with having a 430, be proud of it. You know how many people wish they could drive a Mercedes Benz?

As strange as it may sound they are times I am glad I have a 430 over a 55.

I agree. I hear this crap over and over again every time someone brings it up or it appears on someones pictures and it's beat into the ground. Personally I couldn't find it in me to be critical of what someone apparently is proud enough of to post a picture of on a forum. Think about it folks, how would you feel if you posted a picture of your pride and joy on here and you got slammed by tons of folks. They may actually be as proud of their rides as we are so be a bit respectful.
If this young man or woman can learn to be as respectful as he/she has in 16 years, then the rest of us can at least follow their lead if we don't already know how to show respect.

they might ask if they were in love with the 55 and wanted to see what it looked like stuffed in the CLK

It is his right (I wouldn't do it, but that is why diversity is paramount) ....car looks good otherwise. I would love to see some staggered deep dish 19s on there....I am also loving that head unit. Gives an OEM appearance - that is the only way to fly IMO
