Lightbulb In need of Curb Rash repair...

Ok... so I need to take my wheels in for some curb rash and a little nick on the face of the wheel... Can anyone recommend a place in the local Los Angeles area? Orange County is cool too...

I've had experience with Speedway Metal Polishing, and the work is pretty good, and cheap... but the turnaround time can be a little slow.

Mag Masters has been referred numerous times, so I may go there if nothing else comes up..

Anyone else has any recommendations???

Thanks in advance...
Danny

Don't know about LA but here in Miami there are a few people, who can fix curb rash while the wheel is still on the car. If you're worried about turn around time, maybe you can look into something of the sort. I'm sure there should be someone who does this service mobile in LA.

all I really need is about a 1-2 day turnaround, so, I'm not looking for necessarily a few horus turnaround time...

Do you think these mobile services can fill in deeper curb rashes? or are they pretty much limited to light scratches?

totally...let me get what i have in the garage put on first....cuz its still stock..,orginally i didnt want to do anything to the car....been there done it all with my old prelude and accord....but after coming here...i got the mod bug again!...my freinds called it..they laughed when i told them that i was leaving it stock. I will pm you with my number..and you can come by maybe on sunday and take a look....hopefully i can get it lowered at D2 on friday. Thinking of going with str8ridin's setup with the HR sport and the #1 pads up front....looks like how i want to go ...use to have my prelude lowered to the point where u can only see tires and no gap...and it was tought to drive and camber was wayy out.....so i wont go that aggressive this time around. Dave at D2 told me HR or EIbach are $380 and $480 for brabus springs. So for now..just lowering and rims put on....and maybe start workin on the stereo next.

haha... good call... you can't come to this forum and walk away without the mod bug... this place is chalked full of inspiring ideas...

HR springs are pretty cheap... I think they sell for like $230 at tirerack... and install on them is only about $100... of course, D2 does a less volume then tirerack, so they don't get it as cheap, but its an FYI...

If some other place quoted you $350 installed, see if Dave will match or beat it... he's a cool guy... he'll work with you

I decided to take the wheels to Mag Masters to get the scratches removed & repolished... The work was quick, and cheap... I already have the wheels back and they look great...

pictures to come tonight when I can get hold of my digicam...

Does Mag Masters reshape wheels and recoat them in addition the the curb rash repair? This place by my house charges 100 dollars for a complete refinishing, curb repair, and reshaping they pretty much make it look like a new rim. Problem is I am in LA and not San Diego and I dont think I can wait until I get home.

The wheels turned out nice Danny! I don't remember seeing pictures of your car rolling on those wheels, do you mind posting a couple?

I think Mag Masters only does refinishing and paintings... Not absolutely sure about that, but you should call and verify what kind of job they can manage.... They specialize in polishing/re-polishing lips...

Hey Bruce...

Yeah, I've been a little on the humble side by not whoring it up with pics of my car lately...

actually, I've had the new wheels on my car for about 2-3 weeks now, and I was planning to take some pics after I get the car & wheels washed & waxed tomorrow... However, the rain will indefinitely delay that...

I'll try to get new pics out by next week if the weather cooperates...
