ASR v ESP any tremendous difference?
Im looking for a clk, but do not know whether it is ok to buy a 98 because there is no ESP available. It is also looking difficult to find a 99 with the ESP option in the color i want, etc. Does anyone here have positive or negative experience with both? I have a friend who has an e320 (last body style) w/o ESP (has ASR) and he hydroplaned into a highway median (grass thankfully), so im a bit spooked. Any input would be tremendously helpful. Thanks.

yea def wasnt standard. you're not seeing it on most cars because hardly anyone wanted to pay for that option. i guess it also depends on where you live and the weather there. my car doesnt have ESP but im in florida, my tires are really grippy, and i don't do anything too crazy to need it. but then again, i guess i can make this statement until some freak accident happens...
