Arrow Need quick help on paint color issue.

I have a black 98 CLK 320. I'm guessing that this is the standard black color, not black opal. Was black opal available on the 98s? Also, i have an awesome offer on a bumper that is painted black opal. If i have the normal black color will this be a noticable difference? Assuming that it will be, is there any advantage to buying a bumper already painted black opal as opposed to buying one that is primered and not painted? Thanks for the help.

If I am not mistaken, a bumper that is already painted will have to
be sanded down, and re-primed so its ready for the right colour
paint. Sorry I dont know much about the availability of Black Opal
paint for your model year.

oh...I see.... I would think buying a black opal one would be a disadvantage. Generally speaking, paint adheres better to primer then existing paint with clear coat. It would have to be sanded down to be best.

Ok thanks, I think im going to pass on the black opal bumper and just buy one that's just primed. Anyone know a good place to get AMG side skirts for a W208?

King, you are going all out. So you decided to go with the AMG side skirts instead of painting your existing ones? Were you able to fix your AMG wheels?

Hey H-man. Yeh i just sold some stuff off my old car and a Passport SRX i had lying around. I got the wheels fixed. Spaugh did a great job, no vibration now. Im thinkin about getting either an eisenmann exhuast or evosport pulleys or konis in December. I'm solving the other half of the wheels problem (crappy korean tires that came on the car) with some Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S' on the 25th. Thanks again for all the help, im going to be getting some estimates from Ians soon. I've got all my Zaino stuff and scratch remover polishes for the swirl mark removal coming up next week. We'll see how it turns out.

I'm sure your car is going to look sweet when you get finished. I've had black cars for the last 10 years, and the CLK looks great in black. The pulleys or exhaust would be a good upgrade for you. Are you thinking of lowering your car or are the Koni's just for giving you a more aggresive suspension? We are gonna have to start our own CLK meet.
