Kleemann 430 springs
Hi guys...
I was doing a search and everyone talks about the H&R springs being cut and stock ones too.... okay... how about this...
I have some Kleemann 430 springs w/ the shocks but my car is a 320. Someone told me that I could install them like this and the springs will not lower that much because the springs were made for the 430 and since that car is heavier it'll lower the 430 1"... now if I install it on the 320 it'll probably lower it .5"... would you guys cut the springs 1 coil on each one? Some advice guys... Thanks
I don't want the gap... but I also don't want to ruin my car. Thanks guys

The difference in mass from a 430 to a 320 is very small (about 110 lbs total), it is not the difference of .5" to 1" drop. Use the V8 suspension on the V6, no problem.
NEVER cut a coil spring, the end of the "wire" is bent for proper seating in the spring perch, not to mention it effects to overall spring rate etc etc. Your Benz deserves better than cut coil springs.

So you think that it doesn't matter then... it'll sit the same as if it was in a 430. I jus tdon't want a gap between my wheels and the fender. I was wondering what pads are on mine because my car sits high right now. I put my wheels on the car and it looks nasty. it has maybe a 2" gap or something like that.... Wonder what size I should get for the pads.
Thanks for the reply

Well I went to order the 5mm spring pad and the 9mm spring pad at the dealer today and tomorrow they should have it. Hopefully that way I could take the car in to get the kleeman suspension installed. I think this will be good enough considering I don't want the car to be slammed. Thanks guys...

I just installed the suspension at D2 and damn.... Thank GOD I didn't cut a spring.... it lowered perfect. The ride is nice and stiff. Feels better on the turns and high speed. I didn't even have to change the pads in the rear.... I barely fit one finger in the front or rear. I like...
The pads are the ones that go on the top of the spring...

You could get it from the dealer. I bought my front pads for 5.50 ea..... I'm still in shock these things cost this amount.... I would have thought that Mercedes would jack you for a simple little pad... but to my surprise nope.... search the forum much has been discussed about the pads.... I believe Chappy posted an article w/ some very good info. on the pads w/ part numbers. Good Luck
