"check engine light" question *HELP*
\They responded by first telling me to unscrew my gas cap and release any pressure build up which was probably the cause of the tripped sensor. I did that and still the light was on. The service advisor told me to drive around for a few days and see if the sensor would reset itself if not to bring it in.My question is… is this bull****??
What are the possible problems for the “Check Engine” to go on..?? Should I even be driving it? I don’t want to make the problem worse. Any info is greatly appreciated.
fills up gas, and didnt tighten the cap. Yes if you dont make
it tight, you will loose pressure in your tank, causing a check
engine light. Seriously though, it sounds like something else.
Mine just came on last week for a few days, and I found out
that its caused by a MAF which is on its way out, so I have
the part on order.
I had a single marginally bad O2 sensor that on hot days, would light up my CEL when I got on the gas. The next day it would go out for a while. I eventually replaced it myself. Also I had a leak in the vacuum canister line. This starts off with a blinking empty fuel tank light (same as with the loose gas cap) and then turns into a full blown CEL.

You guys think I should still take it in? Do I have a bad MAF?
Thanks in advance..
My wife's mini van check engine light came on at 50,000 miles, and the dealer wanted $240 for the oxigen sensor, so we droved 70,000 miles more until we sold it with the check engine light still on!
