youngest benz owner in here?

You bring up a good point...how about who's the youngest here...who actually bought their own car?
Cause I know a 16 year old kid who lives down the street and drives his Daddy's murcialago<sp> all the time.
I wish his Dad was still adopting.... :-( Maybe when he wrecks it, his Dad will disown him and adopt me.
I was the yougest around here a few years ago.

I'm interested in that as well. I'm sure there are some really young people who actually bought their own CLK. I guess I'll start if anyone is interested.
I bought my 2000 CLk430 when I was 18. No monthly payments, 100% mine

I assume we are talking about people who earned the money themselves and paid for every cent with their hard earned money? I say we include insurance too, people who pay for their own insurance.
I'm interested in hearing the stories of other young benz owners who bought their own rides.

I bought my 2002 CLK430 when I was a tad over 25.
Paid(paying) for by myself.
Down payment of over half the sticker price, 3 yr finance (2 yrs left)
I pay my own insurance (almost $4,000 a year)

Damn man, you pay $4000 a year for insurance? Do you have a lot of tickets or something? Mine is less than $900 a year, but I have no tickets......yet. That's almost as much as another car payment.

my insurance is almost that much (over $3000), but im also 19, have 1 wreck (i forgot to tell you guys that story, it was a little fender bender that was 100% not my fault, some girl ran into me while i was completely stopped and it ended up with me being at fault.....
) and one ticket (that i deserved, but its only 54 in a 45 on my record). but im also ensured to drive all the cars my family owns, 3 of which have over 400hp. danny, your insurance company must hate you!

Jeez...what the heck do y'all do for a living???
I need another job...I bought mine when I was in my late twenties. I think I was partin' too much to even realize cars as a bling bling back then.
...I feel humbled by all this...

my dads owns his own company, does tax-advantaged investing. while i do make my own money, its easy to get a good job when your dad owns a company. i work some for him, but i decided to get my own job this summer. since im in college all year, i have to make enough money over the summer to pay for my car stuff, fraternity dues, books, food, clothes, and rediculous drinking habits...

and my insurance probably does hate me... signed up with them in April 2001, and in June 2001, I totalled my car (my fault) and injuries filed. Then, in September 2001, had another fender bender on the freeway. It was only a 2 mph accident, but the F&@ker filed for injurty claims, and yes, it was my fault again...
So, thats why my rates are so high. AND this is with me being listed as the secondary driver (10% driver) for the cheapest of all the cars on our policy... just imagine me being listed as 100% primary driver for the CLK...
I was quoted by Geico for around $6,000 as primary...
gosh... my monthly insurance premiums outweigh my monthly payments on my 2nd car...

hopefully, come time september next year, the accident will be off my record, and maybe the rates will be low enough where i'll just list it as my primary vehicle...

I'm self employed, that's where the money is at. You get to dictate how much you want to make, plus what hours you want to work (usually way too many). You'll rarely make a lot working for someone else, IMO. I made more in one day recently, than I made all summer working at McDonalds a few years ago.

99 CLK320
Im 18 turning 19 on the 24th. Drove a 93 Camry I4 LE with 250k miles for work as a hand me down. Mom got scared when she drove it said it was too crappy. Bought a 99 CLK320 for 10k with 60k miles from a family friend.
Gotta love those toyotas though, they never die on you.

1999 CLK320
17 right now, had it since I got my license (16). The thing is depreciation has made these cars really attainable. I have a 1999, bought it with 29k miles for $19000, and thats a high price. I haven't had any problems so far besides the MAF throwing the check engine light. Life is short, I'd rather be driving this than the new camrys and accords many people get for a similar amount of money.

Holy dead thread Batman!
well..
17-19 - Saleen Mustang Convertible
19-26 - CLK 430 (still have)
24-26 - Hyundai Elantra (daily driver - man the mileage is disappointing for a 4 banger)
26- Mini Cooper S (new daily driver - will be here in approx. 4 weeks)
...and one of the few that pays for everything (including real estate properties) myself - even @ 17. :0)
