Sell my CLK500 for this???

Thinking that modding my CLK is getting costly, and I want something to bang out without bangin' out my wallet, so I came across this which is local to me, and it has low mileage and has all the mods that i would do. I know it's a japanese car, but its tastefully modded, not overdone and the price seems to be right, only thing i would sacrifice is luxury and power... so guys, dont be too biased but should I take the plunge?

its a very very nice car!!(my sister has one in white as well) im not feeling those backup things though but thats up to you.... how far do you wanna go with your clk? to me i think its a much more unique car because anyone can get a g35 these days i see grandmas driving it but a clk is unique and has a lot of class.... take it for a test drive it just wont be the same maybe faster but it just wont feel the same once you go benz you cant go back imo

No matter how much stuff you put on the G35...it will always be just that, a G35.

Good move if your looking to downgrade, and save money. Otherwise its a no brainer.
And faster?? Who said faster? The CLK500 will smoke a G35.

i agree...the clk has a very sleek look that the g35 just doesn't match IMO. i am biased toward the clk though because it is one of my favorite looking cars....the g35 you're looking at is loaded with great interior features...so go with what you want. i just think for exterior styling the clk wins hands down.

That's a nice car, but you're driving a BENZ. G35's are everywhere. The CLK is unique and better looking IMHO. Also, you'll be part of the rice rocket crowd, though a G35 can hold its own. But if you're like me, you already have some sort of attachment to your car, I wouldn't let mine go to save a little money.

Although the G35 is nice, I would stick to the CLK. There are just too many G35s around and a modded CLK is pretty rare from what I have seen. And wheres the fun in buying a pre-modded car?

if you plan to keep your CLK and then make the lambo doors mod, so sell it like this you won't ruin a nice 209

The G35 is a great car, and an excellent value. However, those mods are ridiculously ricey and ugly (to me). I'd take a stock CLK500 over that thing any day.

If you're going to dump it, get this. Won't even need mods: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

The G35 is the best bang for the buck bar none but its not a CLK. Besides how many mods are you really planning for you car... If its too high upgrade the platform. How about an 03 SL500 or a GT3?

the G35 is a nice ride, but that one is a little too much Fast & Furious...plus, the g coupe is getting quite common. i agree with the above post, pick up a GT3 or a 1-3 yr old 911 turbo or 4s.
mods get pricey fast; i wonder what that guy paid for his lambo doors...

I agree that the G35 is a great car value. Depending on what you are looking for in a car, this might be the ticket. Between the Hp difference and weight difference between the two cars, I think they are probably about the same speed, but I think you can probably get more out of modding the G35 engine.

I don't like parking sensors on the G35, and from that angle the rear bumper has too much flat white space between the rear tail lights and the lower lip/exhaust. Other than that, I think the car looks great.

I'm personally against excessive modding on a MB. IMHO carbon fiber or lambo doors just don't look good on a MB.

UH no the clk runs a 13.9 1/4 mile the g35 a 14 according to R&T or one of those mags. In south florida clk's are not so exclusive people need to stop kidding themselves on that point. The clk Ihad a 500 is a nice car but the quality of the new benz's suck. The g35 is an awesome car my brother had one and their very comprable to the clk, except for you can't be as snobby with a g35. G35 is not rice an accord, civic, sentra, integra etc. is rice. Supra's aren't rice neither are nsx's so that statement is a little off.

Once you put a lot of the all show and no go mods on, it's rice. The last time I checked 13.9 is still quicker than 14. But in street use what's important is the torque, which the CLK has a lot more of. As for the quality, not every single benz is a lemon. The G35 is a good car, but it's no CLK.

I don’t care what magazine you’re reading. I have raced many G35's, and my car is CLEARLY faster. Even with the 19's. Now if you throw a turbo there would be a totally different story. I’m not knocking the G35. I think the car is bad ***. I just don’t think it is in the same breath as a CLK500.

There is a Greddy turbo kit available for the g35, and I beleive it is priced at $3500 plus installation. That is a far cry from a supercharger for a 500 or any other benz for that matter at $10+k. I beleive Vic aked if he should go the direction of the g35 because modding his clk for uniqueness, exclusivity would be expensive.

If I may what is so much better about the clk 500 at nearly $60k than a g35 at a little more than half that price?

have you test driven one of these? I did before my purchase and I found the steering to be very stiff and the interior to look very cheap. The silver interior trim looked very plasticky and the leather was terrible as well. It's a good bang for the buck but the CLK drives better in my opinion.

Buy what you want, but here are the numbers from the current Road and Track:

In the zero to sixty sprints the CLK takes 5.4 seconds, versus the G35 at 5.9
Zero to a hundred takes the CLK 12.6 seconds, versus the G35 at 14.2
The quarter mile is covered in 13.9 @ 104.5 MPH in a CLK and 14.4 @ 100.6 MPH in a G35. Yes, the G35 was a manual.

If you want the G35 because you think it's cheaper to maintain, make sure and do your homework. Have you priced maintenance at the Infiniti dealer? Things that will take you to the dealer - the brembo pads squeal and are good for about 20K of normal driving. Don't complain to the dealer about the vibrating shifter, it's normal. Don't complain about the paint chipping, you were warned here first. The CD changers are junk.

If you do your own maintenance, prices will be about the same except for one area - tires. Due to alignment "diffiulties" both the 350Z AND the G35 devour tires. All the Nissan owners complain about tires, and it's due to Nissan's lousey suspension specs. Check out for yourself:

http://www.carsurvey.org/review_59139.html

Do your own Google and you'll see exactly what I mean.
