Two Members who trully represent what this forum is all about.

Two weeks ago I purchased a wood steering wheel and was going crazy on how or where to install it. The stealership was talking at least $150 to do the swap. I surfed the forum and saw that many people had done it themselves. I am one of the most mechanically inclined people out there. Whenever I DIY there is always two or three screws that are mysteriously left over lol.

I saw a fellow member (BklynBenz) who was somewhat local and had done it a few times with his buddy i dropped him a simple PM, asking if he would be willing to help me with the switch and that I would be willing to drive out to him and even give him a few bucks for the help. I was emailed back the same night and assured that as soon as I recieve the wheel we could set something up.

Make a long story short BKLYNBENZ (with a bag of tools) and FAZOOLEY (in his sick CLS) came to my apt last night @ 10;30pm in New Jersey from Staten Island and not only did the swap for me but showed me how to do it myself, for the future. Once again they came to me at 10:30 pm on a Tuesday. They dont know me from a hole in the wall. The only connection we had was that we were all on the forum. Never purchased something from one another never talked over pm nothing.

After 20 mins and to me what looks like a brand new interior my wood wheel was complete and done right with no malfunctions. I offerd the driver FAZOOLEY $60 dollars to at least fill up the tank for him for the ride he took to New Jersey but he refused. I literaly tried to throw the money in his car, he quickly grapped it gave it back to me and said, no way we are all on the forum and this is what it is all about, helping each other out. We exchanged some fresh ideas that we could each do to our rides. They both told me that if i ever needed anything in the future to simply give them a holler, and off they went.

I can not say enough about these two who came as strangers but left as friends. They truly represent what this forum is all about.

Hats off to BKLYNBENZ & FAZOOLEY

Great to hear, this is what it is all about. Taking the time to drive out to help another member out is a great thing.

Thumbs up to Bklyn and Fazooley for stepping up to help a member.

Also, post some pics of that new wheel so we can all see.

This is great to hear! I've chatted with BklynBenz on AIM several times and he's been nothing but helpful. I have had many great experiences dealing with people from the forums and have made several local friends in the process. The only problem is that sometimes these good experiences can lead us to the false impression that everyone here is trustworty, and you get ripped off in the Classifieds by some chump!

Sick dude, that's what forums are all about, my buddies and I did a never before done modification to my ML by baking my headlights open and clearing them out by cracking the amber out of the housings, it was a good 4 hour job, and in the end when I pulled out my wallet, he said "you better be showing me a picture of your girlfriend" It's awesome, why go to a shop and pay 60 bucks an hour when you have nearly 2,000+ gearheads online???

We can meet up wherever you like , I remember seeing you say something about cruising down to the Delaware Memorial Bridge to meet up with the guys from DC/MD.Virginia.I am located dead-central Jersey- about 15 minutes south of Trenton if you want to cruise down here we can use a rest-stop area off I-295 or off the turnpike and meet with those guys and cruise on up.PM me if you are interested.

Kudos to the two gentlemen. It always nice to hear people helping people. We should all, including myself, take example from them.
