w209 Brake Options?
I just hit 50k miles on my car, and my OEM brakes appear to finally be toast. I thought that I was going to get another 6 months out of them and send my car off to get some engine work done, but now that this came up, I have to wonder if I should spring for some brakes now that the pads/rotors need to be done and postpone the engine work for a minute. I have looked at brakes in the past, but I can't say that I am fully aware of what is currently available for our cars and would like to try to make a good decision. Can anyone help me decide and make sure that I get a good set/value? I have looked at the Stoptechs, Brembos, Kleemanns, Movits, AMGs, and the ones from the other Benz tuners. I'm leaning towards the Stoptechs because they are relatively cheap, but I don't really have any previous experience and don't want to make a bad decision. Any input or suggestions?

Stoptech BBK's.
www.euroteckmotorsports.com should carry them. StopTech stresses balance and real performance.

Eli:
I know a couple of guys who have installed Stoptech on their cars. They love it. Performance/value is probably the best out there. I personally prefer Brembos. I decided to pay more and install them on my W209. I cannot say that they perform much better than Stoptech but the looks and the name added more weight to my decision. Also, if you think that they're expensive, i got a quote from Brabus before installing the Italian reds and got $11,000.
Regards,
Joe

If you want Brabus brakes, I might be able to get you a set. Price would be well below their asking price of around $10k, but still pretty hefty though.
Edit: Just found a guy in the Classifieds who is selling a Brabus kit for a much lower price.

Z1co,
when you installed the Brembos, did you order the brake caliper mounting brackets from Brembo as well or are they customised?
cheers
