In the process of getting a custom exhaust system done, but don't know which setup to go with. The quads like the 55 or single tips like the DTM? I'm thinking the single tips would be easier and give me more space for the custom rear diffuser I have in mind. Opinions?

Dual ovals similar to the DTM but with titanium tips like on the Kreissieg would be hot

the second style will look awesome, bec the dtm looks exactly like the original exhaust just on both sides, it will never come out how the dtm actually looks imo

I like the DTM, a different style!

Should have clarified, that CLK55 is not mine. Its a member's car from the 55 section. Just wanted to give you guys an idea of the choices.

Tmans: I think the 2nd pic will looks good on your CLK. The 1st pic is just too agressive IMO.

I don't think Carlsson sells the dtm tip but they do have a larger sized tip that has a trapezoidal shape

i would go with 2 ovals. 4 is just too much and the round ones don't really fit anything on the car.

Thanks for all the responses and although that last option Frisco put up looks hot, I think quads are the winner. Hopefully, I'll have this done within a week or so.

A Few
Same question to everyone....

I have the same problem here. I have an '05 CLK500 and would like to do quads... I love the carlsson quads, with the rear bumper and diffuser...
I heard it's about $3k everything included/installed...

does anyone have any ideas the best (and of course cheapest) way to get the Carlsson?

--or--

would the AMG quads work on a CLK 500? Any prices? place to buy it?

FYI, I have seen a (I think 2006 CLK55) with quads, only one I ever saw here in L.A. at UCLA parking... Looked awesome...

Frisco - Thank you! That DTM picture just confirmed the quads for me.

dakrisht - AMG quads are retrofittable, but would cost upwards of around $5k with all the things you need to do.

Tommy, what kind of setup are you looking to get? Keep us updated about how you are going to get it done (run an L-pipe or just tips or etc). I am also thinking of doing a quad exhaust system.
