Thinking about getting an Eisenmann Exhaust

There are a few members here who have Eisenmann Muffler installed on their CLKs. I did some search today to find out how Frisco, Pisces and company are feeling after using this exhaust for a while.

I am looking to add some "punch" to the exhaust note of my 2004 CLK500, and make it louder. I am not a big fan of noisy exhaust notes (think modified Hondas and Mitsubishis, with their screaming noisy exhausts). Something with a deeper bass but considerably louder than OEM will do it for me.

Is Racing Muffler much better than the Sport one. Is 2x83mm preferable over 2x76mm or 1x120x77mm. Any notice in horsepower gains as claimed by Eisenmann (they claim around 6% gain, which seems very very high for just a muffler replacement).

And yes I really like Frisco's exhaust note link.

Cheers,

Zee

Zee:

Yes, the racing one is better. It's louder but since you have a V8 and not 4 cylinders (like in hondas), it'll never sound bad. I wanted the loudest possible option and i think i got it. TMans (Tommy) has seen and heard my car live many times. Why don't you ask him about the sound level. Yes, it's very loud but very nice. I'm not sure about HP gains. I don't think you and i can feel a 6% increase. I hope it's there though...the important thing is NOT to lose any horses.

Regards,

Joe

Seems like you guys are pretty happy with the exhaust. I am leaning towards getting the 2x83mm round tipped Racing exhaust.

Do we need to get the bumper modified to install the exhaust?

Eisenhaus website is selling that exhaust for 1310 USD (includes shipping). Is there a better price out there.

Thanks for your comments guys,

Zee

2X83 is fine. No modifications required. Call Neal in Florida @ 954-732-4934. It's where i got mine from. Great guy!

deff. get it ive had mine (2x83mm) for about 2 months and love it, it is deff. worth the $ and ull love it, i personally think the stock tail pipe does no justice and makes the car look weak

OK I am sold on the 2x83 one. Joe, I'll definitely give Neal a call to check on the exhaust. I am getting a bit excited thinking about the Eisenmann, along with the new trunk lid spoiler, pedals (courtesy Steve at MBenzNL) and illuminated sills (current status, not working ) on my car.

Right now it is dead cold up North here, and the car has only winter rims on. Come April and Carlsson 18" will come on, along with the new goodies, along with ones not currently working. I'll post some pics after car is ready for summer

By the way, if any one from Toronto has a contact of a good shop that does exhaust, please feel free to post here.

If you want your car to sound totally BADASS, get the Eisenmann Race muffler. I have the 2x83 and it fits perfectly. It fills up the whole bumper space and the tips stick out so everyone will see it. It has a sound thats similiar to a V8 mustang, but its still unique. I think its a bit deeper than a mustang while a mustang has more muscle sound to it. Low RPMs is a very very deep bassy sound. Mid RPMs is all muscle. High RPMs is race-car.

However, there is drone while driving the car around normal. If you don't mind this then this is the perfect exhaust.

About HP gains, I think that it pulls a little bit better than it did before. I wouldn't be suprised if there are HP gains, maybe like 10 extra HP and TQ as well. Not sure though, but it DEFINITELY doesn't hurt performance.

Good luck

What is the best way to describe the difference between the Eisenmann Race muffler and the muffler offered by Brabus? Which one is better? Ive heard Eli's sound clip (and it sounds great) but have yet to hear a brabus muffler. any suggestions? Thanks

Haven't heard it, but at AI Design (a big customs shop in NY), when I was debating which exhaust to get they told me that Brabus is more for looks and is a little subdued while the Eisenmann is more musclecar. So, I guess that Eisenmann is louder, deeper, and more muscle. The Brabus tips look nice though.

I really like the look of the Brabus exhaust but have no clue what it will sound like on my car. If not the eisenmann exhaust would be the next choice.

I think Jay500 got the Brabus on his car and told me that it sounded very similar to the stock exhaust and really didn't change the sound of the car.

I got Brabus exhaust! Sounds a little deeper than stock but not as loud as Eisenmann. The only reason I go with Brabus is because I have all of my stuff from Brabus and it will be really out of place to have an eisenmann exhaust. Besides, Brabus exhaust looks better than Eisenmann. I say, go with Eisenmann for performance & sound and go with Brabus for looks!

Smile Exhaust ordered

I ordered the Eisenmann Racing Exhaust yesterday using Euroteck Motorsports in Florida using the number Joe gave me. It will take around 1-2 weeks for it to get here. I can't wait for Spring to come sooner. I'll post pics once it is installed, alongwith the trunk lid AMG spoiler and Carlssons.

Smile The Eisenmann is on, my God that's sweet..

Update guys:

The exhaust was delivered on Thursday via UPS. I took two hours off this morning from work to get it installed. The twin pipes look much better than the stock. We raced the engine at the worskshop, and difference was noticed right away. However I was not expecting the exhaust to come really alive when I drove back to the office. This thing growls, especially in the first and second gear. Soon I was addicted to the growl, and took a 10km detour to reach back the office

It is raining and crummy out here in Toronto. I'll post some photographs tomorrow or later this week when weather turns better and we have some sun. But I gotta say, I am enjoying it very very very much.

Nice work Zee! Mustang owners, beware! You have a rival in town. Congratulations!

Thanks Joe:

I got it by calling Neal at Euroteck. The whole process was quite smooth; his price was very reasonable (compared to the Eisenhaus website price), and I got it via UPS within three business days. Thanks for a great advice, and I'll recommend Euroteck to any one interested in getting this exhaust.

Thanks Frisco. No I didn't touch the resonator. Wasn't sure about that part and if there was improvement in sound. Only the stock exhaust was replaced at the end by Eisenmanns.

Loving it 24 hours later
