If the annual fuel cost is over (I think) $1200, there will be a gas guzzler tax. The higer the amount over the higher the tax. Again, don't quote me on the amount it may be a bit higer.

don't they adjust that for current gas prices??? if gas prices went to 2.50 a gallon, even a fairly effecient car would get a gas guzzler tax. sounds like the tax man is evil heheh

btw. isn't there also a EPA city/highway MPG requirement for the gas guzzler tax? if it is below X amount the tax is imposed type of thing?

The $1,000 would apply to cars which average (55% City / 45% Highway) at least 21.5 mpg, but less than 22.5 mpg. I asked in another thread the mpg.
