Yeah it's easy - there's 2 torx heads securing it at the base of the wood panel, and to access them you need to hold the ashtray door half open or just pop the ashtray wood panel facade off. Use a flashlight and you'll see one on each side. Once you undo them, the panel pretty much comes right off. You probably want to use some painters tape to cover any potential inadvertant scratching.

removing the wood trim around the radio, theres any way or space to place a gps antena near the vent grills or IC???
I want to install a comand in a friends car and want to know where to place the gps antena...
In the w203 it can be placed behind the IC or near the vent grills, but on the w209 I don't know!
Any info on this?
Thanks

I had MbenzNL (Steve) install command in my former 2003 CLK500. And he put the GPS antenna up high, under the dash, behind the instrument cluster (clock, Speedometer, Tach). This provided very good "Visibility" to the satellites.
Of course, he had to remove the instrument cluster to do this, which I don't recall exactly how that's removed. I believe the GPS antenna was flat and was stuck to the underside of the dash with double-sided tape.

Now i would be very curious to see how everibody installed a subwoofer speaker, and where you put the amplifier...
then thing is that i had a very cool sound system in my old car, i set up everything to make it a show sound system, and it was pretty good in sound quality competition (EMMA)
But now i want a sound system in order to enjoy my music in the car, and the last thing i want is it be flashy and to modify the original interior of the car..
I didnt have time to take the car apart, i was thinking about taking off the oem subwoofer, make a hole in the back dashboard, and install my jl 10w6 in the way that only the magnet would be in the trunk... I didnt look under the back seat if theres room for the amplifiers like the older mercedes got...
Can anyone light me up??
Thank you!!
