Delivery of CLK's

I've been reading in here about when everyone expects to take delivery of their car. I placed my order for my 500 back in June. The car was just ordered the last week of July. My SalesPerson states that I will have it in the October timeframe. Does this sound right? He said that MB is on their vacation now and will reopen right after Labor Day, in which my car will be built and all that stuff. What does everyone think?

Delivery Times

JohnSpag:

My original order was also in June, and the factory ordering was to go in the 4th week of August, with delivery 30 days later.

My new order (at a much nicer dealer) is to be built the 3rd week of September, with delivery 30 days later (3rd week of October- or the 10th month as the Germans say).

Today, I looked at the order sheet, and surprisingly, there were a 10 new orders in the last two weeks. My dealer said that they were only getting approximately one or two per month...MB's CLK line was the line in the factory. The car may be deemed "exclusive"

So, I don't think that the October date is that far off for a car to be built in September. If you are located on a coast, the time frame may be less, but, in the middle of the nation, 30 days seems to be the time frame...

Where were you on the order list? I was #3 at the original dealer, and still couldn't get a build date until the end of August/early September .

Z-Dude

First and foremost, thanks for always giving me feedback in here...

I live in NJ, and the dealer I went to said that I needed to place my order at the end of June for a October delivery date. He said that the car was ordered at the end of July, with delivery of October. Where I fall on the list, I am not sure. When I went there initially in June, leaving a deposit got me to receive the car in October. He also said after Labor Day, he can give me more exact details. Does this make any sense?

Thanks bud!

I wish I knew how the whole thing worked with dealer allotments...

But, if you were down on the list, an October delivery date may not be that far off...

My first dealer said that the car, with a June deposit date, would be ordered in late August with a late September delivery...

For some reason, I always feel that dealers are giving me a line of sh*t...even my friends that are dealers

All I can say is GOOD LUCK!

I went to 3 Benz dealers. The first was in NNJ. They were just plain rude! They claimed that if I ordered my car in May, that I would be LUCKY if I saw it in March 2003. Whatever! Then I went to another...weren't very responsive to my inquiries, so I took back my deposit. The one I went with now seem really cool. I was referred by someone to go there. As for price, I am paying sticker. From what I hear, not many will be able to get anything knocked off sticker.
Anything else, just ask....

I got on the list back in May, and I am still not scheduled for production until Sept 20 with delivery in October/November. It's not just you!
