Sounds dishonest to me!!

But why not de-badge it? That's quite popular in Germany and no one can accuse you of pretending your car is something it isn't.

Enthusiasts will notice the difference....rims and bodywork are different. Otherwise, it is your call. run the risk of an enthusiast noticing and calling you on it or BS the vast majority of the public.

Just make sure that an enthusist is not around when your picking up chicks!!

Acutally, the 320 w/ apperance does not come with the AMG wheels the 500 does. Check out MBUSA's site...unless your dealer is taking them off a 500 to put them on yours. It just seems a little weird for someone to debadge a 320 and rebadge it as a 500. Just opt for the 500 and you get the 302 horses!

Just say "no"

My vote is "no". Even if your 320 somehow looks exactly like a 500, it still isn't, and it certainly won't drive like one. Of course, you already know this. So badging it as a 500 is essentially a lie IMO. But if you have no problem falsely representing your possessions, than I'm not going to stop you.

I'd have to agree. Its people who put '500' badges on their 320's that dilute the prestige factor of actually coughing up the extra $10,000 to get the 500. Putting an AMG badge on a 500 is one thing, because you've got the AMG body kit and wheels. But a 500 badge on a 320 is being selfish.

why not just go all the way to CLK55 AMG??

Momba... if you would feel better with a 500 on it. Go for it. No matter what anyone else has to say, it is after all your car. Though this is probably not the best place to ask a question like that.

I dont know if you can call it selfish personally. Selfish is buying a mercedes while others are starving?

I am just wondering why people on this forum are so sharp with their words? I realize that there are differences in opinions but diplomacy should always prevail???

I say leave it clean...or just have AMG on it...that would look hot!...and you'd still be telling the truth!...if you have the AMG kit on it.

Rebadging a car is very uncool.
Girls dont know the difference between a 320 and a 500 anyway, and neither does the majority of the public for that matter. So the only people you are realy trying to fool are people with the know and they're the ones most likely to pick you out. If they do you go from having the respect of a clk owner to a complete tryhard.

Ill save you the embaracement later on and tell you not to bother a 320 is a good car dont feel embarrased.

I think debadging it would look much better than the stock badge, or even a fake badge. But if you must put a different badge on it, put a 55 badge, not a 500!

I've seen an E320 with V12 emblems on it...

That's not right, you are saying that you have a 500 when everyone who knows Mercedes cars will know it's not. You will then look totally stupid because you don't have a 500! I also don't think it's appropriate to put a AMG badge on the 500!

Honestly, I don't like the interior of the AMG version especially the dash with the white dials. Although it is a bit faster which is what I like, the car isn't worth the extra $10 or $20 grand or whatever it is.

Be proud of what you own, otherwise don't buy it and save up for the better product to which you want.

Just my 2 cents, but I think all will agree.

Rebadging a CLK 320 to 500 or 55 ////AMG is fine.

Other fictious identities for consideration, which might be more representational of the new CLK 320:

T A U R U S

A C U R A ..... CL-S

H Y U N D A I ..... S O N A T A (my 1st choice)

V O L V O

or ALL of the above, like a billboard and as some notable and PROMINENT signatures on this forum!! (my 2nd choice)
