clk500 vs g35 coupe

Hi
I was wondering if anyone know who would win if clk500 went against a g35 coupe?

THanks

In a race? CLK 500 beats an automatic G35 coupe. A G35 coupe manual is quicker and will give the CLK 500 a good run until about 80mph and the larger displacement of the V-8 will slowly pull away.

Both are quick cars and G35 has a great punchy V-6.

yup... the v6 runs out of steam around 100mph... pretty dead after that.

The G35 is a nice car - I've had one several times as a loaner car when our FX35 is in for service. But the CLK is much nicer in every category I can think of except for how nimble it is.

The CLK has a better sounding engine. In fact my CLK500 has a better sounding engine when my foot is to the floor than my 2005 Corvette had.

The CLK500's engine feels much better than the G35. It has loads of bottom-end grunt that you would expect from a V-8. The G is peppy but you have to wind it up.

The CLK's interior, in my opinion, is the nicest of any car in its category. Materials, comfort, fit & finish and attention to detail. I have yet to find a car under $70k with an interior nicer than the CLK.

The only advantage I can think of for the G is that it feels a lot lighter. The CLK is a heavy feeling car. But that may or may not be an advantage depending on if you prefer luxury over handling.

I've raced several G35s. From zero and from 80mph. I assure you that a CLK500 is faster.

I have an 05' CLK500 with the 7SP trany. I have raced several "Stock" G35's (Stick and Auto), and find that my CLK is faster at every speed. Not to take anything away from the G35, cause its a very nice car. Put a Turbo in one of those and forget about it.

Yeah it sounds absolutely awful.

CLK500 is in a different league overall to the G35.

I get them buzzing around my rear bumper too but they're not there for long once I put my foot down.

I find the G35 has a great stock exhaust note.

not stock.
I actually find that the 350Z / G35 have very nice O.E.M exhaust notes, at least ALOT nicer than many others in its categories, that dont even have one... lol.
