2003 CLK quality concerns

i picked up my 03 clk 320 last week and at 270 miles, i already have problems with the car:

1-the rear electric sunshade makes a rattling noise whenever i hit a bump or turn the radio up loud

2-the drivers door window makes a clunking noise when going up or down

i hope this isn't the beginning of a F.O.T. car!!!
anyone else having problems?

I do !
(1) The speedo meter is broke, the needle stuck there.
(I can only read by digital numbers)
(2) The feul indicator looks wrong

I know same problem regarding the console meter are happened on W211, the dealer has ordered a few spare(W211/W209) for warranty.

I just crossed 1K miles on my '03 CLK and so far not a single problem other than debris flying up and hitting me on the highway :-(

Unhappy

Mine's around 1200mi after a long trip... my problems...

1. Sometimes the CD changer do not work properly; the Command monitor says 'CD changer: no magazine' even if the magazine is there. this is fixed when I turn off the engine and start it again.
2. Sometimes, after I start the engine and put the gear in 'R' position, the red warning light that says' put the gear in P position' pops up on the dash board... this is the message is the same one that pops up when I push the 'Start/Stop engine' button on the gear shift in any position other than 'P' (Keyless go)
3. transmission problem. hard to explain this in words, but after I fully accelerate using 'kick down' and slow down, the gear feels like it's in the wrong gear and the rpm stays somewhat high for a while and then go down... I don't know if this is a common thing but afraid this might be due to my driving hard before 'break-in' period (since 50mi on the mileage)
4. Someone already mentioned this. the Wiper makes a wild noise.
5. Happened to me once. I was using the navigation and the screen just froze, like a computer would. I turned off the Command system and turned it back on after 5 sec. and it worked fine...

I dont think the gear not changing up is a problem- the car believes you are still in crazy, agressive mode for a while

Schumacher ,

Re: point 3. I agree with Aus - my CLK320 does the same - not a problem.

The software thinks you are going to accelerate hard again and so doesn't change down.

Stef.

Is the CLK nav the same Nav being used in other MB cars?
Wondering if others are have problems with the Nav.

Tranny problem isn't a problem. I have noticed this in my wifes C240.

I had a simular changer problem once, found that the magazine was to blame.

Just a few thoughts...
