how are your car doing??? i'm looking for a 03-04 model but some have been talking about how crapy the cars are with their problems.....

whats your take on it?? i know small things are going to happen but i'm not too worried about that but more worried about things like tranny/electrical stuff

W209 CLK
I have an 03 and had the tranny problem taken care of under warranty. That's the only problem I've had. I haven't had any electrical problems... yet. I still love the car.

My only bone about the car is the lack of available mods.

2012 CLS63
2003 CLK500 with 40K miles and still running strong. I'm a second owner and haven't had any problems other than mods aren't as abundant as C classes. I hope I don't have any major issues but I'm under warranty for at least 2 more years so I should be ok. Good luck with your decision.

getting a 03 by now would be out of warranty???

also i heard a lot of dealers try to screw you over even if you have the extended warranty and say whatever that needs to be repaired isn't covered....

I have a 04 500 Coupe. This is my families 2nd Mercedes. We have our original 2000 S500 bought new, it's been w/us for 7 +years now.

For my car the W209. I have had issues with the:

Transmission leaking (bad seal- warranty work)
Cracked 3rd brake light cover (warranty Work)
Windows and sun roof CONSTANTLY (1-3x a week) "forgetting" their auto up/down positions, causing the auto up/down function not to work.
When the passenger seat is foward to let the rear occupants access sometimes (once every couple of months) the headrest will fully extend, esentially locking the passenger seat in place.
Driver side differential axel seal failed (causing leak)(warranty work)
ANNOYING "teleaid malfunction" in the LCD display. B/c i choose not to continue to pay ofr a service i never used.

'03 CLK320
03 Clk320 original owner 50K miles. A few stupid little things fixed under original warranty, but purchased extended warranty through Courtesy Motors because I plan to keep mine for another couple of years.

03 CLK500, 04 X3, No 07 GT3RS :(
I am at 75k miles on my 03 clk500, and other than the transmission replacement at 40k miles due to the faulty coolant line, the car has generally run very well. There were a couple minor mechanical parts that failed, but overall the car has been without significant issues so far.

I got 2 free years of extended warranty, it was part of negotiations when I purchased the car. I'm sure they'll probably say some things aren't covered under my extended warranty but then again they always try to take you for what you've got so theres really no difference.

2004 Silver CLK500
2004 CLK here, I have it now for two and a half years, and almost have 40,000 miles on it. Only one problem, where the catalytic converter was making some noise. That was taken care of under warranty. Other than that, very happy with the car; CLK500 is a great car to drive

I've had my 2003 CLK500 since new, I've had a bunch of minor problems, nothing major, all covered under warranty. I love the car.

My advice would be to get an extended warranty. I had to have the navi and one of the whole xenon assemblies replaced and that would've cost several thousand in parts alone. Luckily the car was still under warranty.

2003 CLK320
I have an 03 and I have 111,000 miles. Yes, 111,000 I drive a lot. Besides little problems here thand ere, everything happened under warranty except for something with the accelerator module or something. cost about 150 to fix. Engine and Tranny have been good. i would recommend it. But this is just my experience.
