Uphill rollback?
I have a 2006 CLK350. I guess I've never driven another "sports" car before. I've driven a Highlander and Honda Pilot and S500. None of those cars rollback when i release the brakes on an uphill road. I try to step on the gas lightly sometimes to keep the car in place. It seems to happen everytime in the CLK. Is it because I have a 350, not a 500 or 550, and there isnt enought torque? or is this just NOT normal?

in my clk500 i never have the problem, so it could be the torque, i find myself even having to step harder on the brakes at red lights cuz my car would be sliding forward without me realizing it (kinda annoying to be honest)

I initally had the same problem with my 05 CLK500. I found that it would rollback on a hill when in comfort mode "C". Tried putting it in sport mode "S" and problem went away. Don't know if other years on the CLK have this option on the trans but give it a try. Possible reason I've found for rollback is in comfort mode car stars in 2nd gear and in sport mode 1st gear.
I just keep it in sport mode all the time. I find car to be much more responsive.
Hope this helps.

I have seen the same problem as well in my wife's 07 CLK350...It is in the comfort mode, so I will try switching it (after break-in). Thanks for the suggestion.

2006 CLK350
yea you guys are right, sport mode.........it doesnt rollback. thanks for all the help. BTW in sport mode, does the car stop weird? I try to break gradually so the stop is more comfortable and less sudden. However, when the car is in sport mode, slowing down gradually till 5mph the car jerks to a stop, and then rolls a couple of inches more. In comfort mode, this doesnt happen. Anyone else have this problem?
