Trunk net requires factory installed hooks?

Has anybody bought the thrunk net for their CLK?? I ordered one for mine and it didn't come with the hooks to install the net. The dealer is clueless as for as why the net didn't come with the hooks or even if the car is supposed to have the hooks installed at the factory!!!!

It has been over a month now and they're still trying to figure it out.....HELP!!

I have the trunk net and the hooks are there..........try lifting up the floor to see if they are there, one of mine was not poking through the carpet and I found it underneath.

Hi clkfrk,

Thanks for ur response!! (finally ) Actually, I was talking about the hooks on the vertical back panel (I assume there should be hooks there too). Are you talking about the ones on the trunk floor?

Cheers.

About 3" off the floor. They are also inset in the backseat....if you do no thave a place for them, then you will have to order new seat backs.

I put in two Wal Mart bungee cords in a "X" on the floor which has served me well in my BMW e36 and e46, as well as my CLK 430 and CLK 500.

Looking at Mercedes web site, the cargo net appears to go at the aft of the trunk (see link):

http://www.mbusa.com/byo/pop_accesso...&model=CLK500C

I can not find the hooks as this suggests.

I had such a cargo net in my 1999 C5. It is perfect for that fragile steak and wine from the store.

How come Chevy can get it right?

I think the hooks are only included on cars with the folding rear seats, at least this is the case with the C-class sedans.

Talking

All,

Finally got the right part for it. The correct trunk net kit for the W209 contains the hooks to be screwed on the panel of the loading edge. It only took 2 months for my dealer to figure this out!

Cheers.

Hey tontondavid,

Hopefully you are still around.

I know this is an old post of yours, but i just got my 2005 CLK (W209) about 1.5 years ago. I too am clueless about the hooks.

Do you have an order number or part number or what is the exact name of the hooks i need please?

Mine is also the net for the back of the trunk (not floor).

Any help is appreciated.

email drh64@juno.com

Thank you!
