How wide can we go??
so i have the cash to pick up a set of rims...and the ones that i wanted before are a bit out of reach for my pockets (Forgiato Alneatos) so i opted for a cheaper set of rims...and put the rest of my money towards my outstanding mortgage...LOL
Could we possibly fit a 19x10 with stretched tires in the rears and with a bit of (folding the flaps) fender rolling?..some people are telling me im leaning a bit to the rice side with the gold chroming...but i think it compliments a white car if done right...

stock suspension with 19s looks like a 4x4. The diffrence in ride quality isn't to noticeable with a drop...
when dropped the rears should have no finger gap, and the fronts will have 2fingers...
i'll take some pix tonight.

What about the stock rear wheels on the fronts?
I have a 2004 clk500, and I have two full sets of stock rims. I was going to put the narrow ones (225/45R17) on all four for winter, and upgrade to the 4 equal sized wider ones for the summer.
My questions:
- Will the stock 245/40R17 fit on the front?
- Will it ever rub?
- Will it "improve" handling and not hurt ride, etc? Any downside? Will it make the highway driving more "squirrelly?"
Under hard cornering, I think I found that the car had some understeer, so the wider tires should put more oversteer into the front. What do you guys think?

3. I don't think you'll notice anything different with the ride unless you've got some cheap tires on the replacement wheels or for some reason are using spacers.

I would never use spacers to make wheels fit. If the wheels don't fit then don't do it. Ive used spacers before on my first set of wheels. I have big breaks in the front and therefore needed spacers so the wheels cleared. Having put spacers in the front forced me to use spacers for the rear othewise the stance looked awkward. My steering wheel vibrated at high speeds due to the spacers even though they were hub centric. You've invested a lot of money in your car, spend the money on wheels made for it or go custom.

10s in the back and no need to roll the fenders? I'm getting 19s custom wheels and not sure what to go with in the back. From what I heard 9.5s will give a bigger lip whereas the 10s will give a smaller lip but a wider stance. If the 10s will fit without having to roll my fenders then I will definitely go wider as it takes on a much more agreesive stance and looks mean from the rear.

i agree, i want 10's in the back.
My cousin is running: on a 04 Clk 500
8.5 front 245/35/19
9.5 rear 275/30/19
it only rubs when it hits a BIG bump.
our fenders on the 500 are already rolled on the upper part.

9.5 is what I have in the rear now and I don't rub at all. I had 9.5s on my first set of rims with spacers and I still didn't rub, but then again I run on 265/30/19s.

I'm ordering these wheels tomorrow. They're iForged Triumph wheels. I think I'm gonna go with 19x8.5 in the front and 19x9.5 in the back. I spoke to my friend who works at a shop and he said to go with the 9.5s. He's got the rims ordered that a customer backed out on, exact rims that I am looking for. My tires are 235/35/19s in the front and 265/30/19 in the rear. I'll takes pics when I get them on.
