i got it from the dealer, i have a wholesale account with them so i got it for $225, the clk500 air hoses fit on the amg air box, but i bought some for 11 dollars each just in case they didn't. the whole air intake setup is $419 regularly, but i guess that depens on which dealer you got to bc the other dealer i called was charging 80 dollars more

Setup wise...what is the difference between the AMG airbox and the stock ones? Bigger hoses, intake? Can you take a pic?

That looks like the stock airbox painted a different colour and "AMG" on it. Have the baffles been removed from inside or something?

i think its an AMG box. Theres a little square in in the middle where an AMG engine would have a plaque (with the engine builders name).

its an amg air box for the clk55, i ordered it from the dealer, i noticed that on the c55 airbox theres a little square box on the air intake cover plate, but not sure the clk55 has it. if n e one with a 209 amg pls give some input. is there a difference b/w a 04 clk55 air box compared to a 05,06,etc air intake

It looks like you have an authentic '04 W209 CLK55 AMG air box, because mine looks exactly like that one, down to the AMG badges. Except of course, the "signature" box on my airbox has the metal stamp with the tech's signature.

The '04 CLK55 AMG and CLK500 air boxes do look very similar, except of course the difference in plastic color and the AMG badges.

I believe they are almost identical in terms of air volume and box size. In fact the K&N Part number is the same for the CLK55 and CLK500.

If they are indeed the same, and end up flowing the same amount of air, at the very least you've improved on the look of your engine bay with a brand new AMG air box, which looks great in that color!

If the AMG box is going to make any difference it will be that the box that the air filters are stored in is going to be larger than the stock ones. Larger how, I don't know. That's what I've been told. If the air filter housing is the same size, then you will not get improved performance from the AMG box. You did say you got Green filters though so that should improve HP by a few.
