Hello Everyone,
I'm a new owner of a 2005 clk500. The car is equipped with the factory sport suspension option. I would like to upgrade my wheels to 19". Reading the other posts, I can see that the recommended size by most is: 19x8.5 on the front with 235/35/19 and 19x9.5 on the rear with 265/30/19.
I would like to know if it would be possible to install "thicker tires" on the back; basically 265/35/19. I'm affraid that 30 will really kill the tires on bumps and pot holes. I initially wanted to put 40 front and back but from the recommended sizes, I can see that it's out of the question.
I appreciate the help and thanks in advance...

What are you going for looks or comfort?

Thanks for the replies,
I'm going for the look that's why I was aming for the 19's... I just wanted to put 35's on the back so I don't risk tearing or ruining a tire on a speed bump. I know the 18's are nice but I find the 19's give a stronger visual impact. Has anyone had any problems with the back tires of 265/30/19's??
Thanks for the help...

Same here, but on my 17"s. I still use the stock size, but here in NH the roads suck, and I've bent both of my fronts, and neither of my backs.
