Buying a CLK500

Hey guys, i sold my w208 and now im buying a clk500. The car is a 03 with 52k miles, black on black. No heated seats or navigation command system. I wanted to know does all 500s come wtih the amg bumper like the 55? Once i buy it i want to put the 08 taillights i like those better, or a better solution to make the 03 lights look better? Also do you guys think i will be able to fit my 19s lowenhart LDRs that i had on my w208? 19x8.5 front and 19x10 rear with 235/35/19 front and 265/30/19. Thank you guys....

i think they will, because the only difference i can see is the full white part on 08 models and two separate white lines on 03s. Somebody please confirm this?

To my knowledge I don't think all CLK W209 chassis had the AMG bumper option. When I replaced my fog light there was an AMG and non-AMG. Regarding the wheels should not be a problem with the size, the offset maybe different though. I'm running 19" 8.5 front and 19x10 rear with 275/30 19". Not sure about the lights but if you are going blk on blk it would be sick to blk out the tail lights. Good luck with your purchase.

Ok so here it goes again...

The 08 lights will fit with modifications to the housing or bracket. All the wires will connect, but if you don't alter the housing or bracket then it will not fit. BTW, theres a guy selling his updated tails in the classifieds section and I'm sure he already made the modifications because he has an 03 as well.

All 500's and 55's came with the AMG bumpers here in the US. The 320's did not come with a stock AMG body kit.

You're wheels have the right widths and tires, it would only be your offset that throws it off. With that being said, I've seen many people use wheels off of 208's with 209's, possibly just need to use spacers.

Good luck with your purchase.

I am on the understanding that there were 3 front bumper options available for the 03 500, this coming from my parts guy.

Sounds good! You will have the AMG bumper unless he switched it out.

M-Benz- Thanks bro, its actually a replica that I got from a board member here a while ago. As for price, lets just say I got one hell of a deal, that's why I'm staying with the replica instead of an authentic one.

Disc- What 3 are there? For the years 03-05 there were only 2 bumpers I know of and that's AMG and non-AMG unless. Care to shine some light on it? MB parts guys aren't the most reliable sources from my experience.

I'll agree with you there. I've had to send back my shift knob twice already because they keep ordering the wrong colors.

I'll get back to you on that.
