Hello fom Australia, CLK500
Hi, i joined up a few weeks back but this is my first post. I have been reading through the various threads trying to get some knowledge on this wonderful car.
Firstly, i'm from Australia
I recently purchased a second-hand 2003 CLK500 Avantgarde
Black exterior with optional factory AMG kit
Dark grey interior with light grey inserts
In australia, there were many versions of hte CLK, being CLK200 Kompressor, CLK240, CLK280, CLK320, CLK350, CLK500. Unlike in the USA, the AMG kit was optional only on the V6 and V8 models, so i was quite lucky to find one with the AMG kit!
Other options included parktronic, linguatronic, 2-tone interior
I have attached pictures, let me know what you think!
I'm also in the process of trying to find an AMG muffler (i had found one but the seller won't ship over to Australia unfortunately) and some nice 19" rims (i prefer the AMG look so looking for something AMG-style for the CLK) if anyone has any suggestions on these please let me know!
the other thing i wanted to do was put on some nice dark tint and lower it on eiback springs, that should give a nice look i think. also maybe an AMG CLK55 spoiler, but i'm not set on that as yet.
Cheers!

too much!
when you consider a new M3 is 150k, and a new C63 is 170k, mine was a bargain at 65k while most of them go for between 70-90 for the 03 model CLK500
but given the tree-huggers out there and the fact that petrol is $1.50 per litre, the price of the CLK320 was almost the same as the 500, if not more in some cases!

nooooooooooooooo!
its terrible to think, but thats the price of cars here in australia..
BMW 335i = 110k
Nissan 350Z = 70k
Audi S5 = 150k
Merc C63 = 170k
BMW M3 = 150k
i was looking at a new-ish 325i coupe as a comparison, costing about 75k for a 2006 model, but although it looks nice it has a weak as **** engine compared to the grunt of the 5L V8 in the merc
plus i have always loved merc's!
in the meantime, if anyone knows of someone selling an AMG muffler from a W209 CLK please let me know!

Nice unit Aussie
I'm from Sydney and was hoping to pick up a CLK320 for low-mid 40's...
A 2003 CLK500 went for $55k the other week at a Parramatta road dealer. If the 500 isn't that much more, I'll look at that instead of a 320.
