CLK 350C
Needs New Rotor ( Advise Needed)

Hi
I have a 2007 CLK 350 with sports package.

recently i was experiencing a feedback from brake pedal while braking at any speed. I took it to the dealer and he told me that the rotors are badFront right and rear drivers side. and needs replacement gave me a quote of 1750 USD(ofcourse this includes Pads and rotors)

Then I took it to Midas Brakes and they gave me a quote of 1350 USD

I reasearhed myself and found out that sports package requires Drilled Rotors.
Midas gave me a quotation as follows
199.Front Rotor
555 Rear Rotor
184 Pads Front
98 Pads Rear

- 1350 = Labour

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Any advise on if I buy the parts myself what brand is good ??
afyter a quick search i found that Prices were extremely jacked by Midas as well as the dealer.

Any advise is much appreciated.

WOW that is way to much. I just did a full brake job on my clk 500 replaced the front rotors and all pads. total cost was $430. I did the work myself and am so happy I did our cars have the easiest brake job to ever be done. Check you rear rotors they may not need to be replaced. The hardest part of the whole brake job was getting the wheels off as they were rusted to the rotors. I purchased my front rotors from R1 concepts and was very happy with the product and service also got a set of posi-quiet ceramic pads that are great.

In Manchester, NH, my place wants 470 for front rotors and pads, and 570 for rear rotors and pads. This includes labor. All in all not too bad.

I just checked the R-1 site. I tried to enter the data for a 2006 CLK350 but it only offers:
CLK 320 (W208), (W209)
Year: 2003-2007 (That only allows for W209, which is encouraging). Trouble is, all the rotors that came up say "MERCEDES CLK320 03-05 Brake Rotors - Premium Series"

Will they fit a 2006?

You could get Brembo crossdrilled rotors and some akebono pads for like $600-$700! And the labor should not be more than 1 - 2 hours tops at any mechanic.

Andy

The Akebono link in that post didn't seem to have front pads to fit a 2006 CLK350; anyone know the part #?
