AMG vs. Non-AMG Sprint Booster.
Since I'm going to remove most of my interior for my radio install, I might as well get the SprintBooster now. But I'm not sure what version I should get, the AMG or the Non-AMG. What do you guys think? BTW, I have a 2004 CLK500 and Its my daily driver......

Non-AMG, the AMG version is to tame. BTW, you don't need any interior pieces taken off other than the gas pedal.

Our CLKs have throttle by wire system, so when we depress the gas pedal, an electrical signal gets sent to the ECU and then the throttle is applied. But there is a delay built into our cars (probably to smooth out acceleration). The Sprint Booster is plugged into the harness that sends the signal to the ECU and gives it a new, more aggressive signal (like how the M button works on the M3/M5/M6). Our cars will now react quicker to gas pedal inputs, but it will NOT add horsepower. It WILL feel quicker though. The Non-AMG version is *****-out faster, but the AMG version is more tame (due to the fact that AMG cars have faster throttle response from the factory). Everyone says they absolutely love it, but I want to make sure I get the right version. Does anyone want to comment about the AMG version (if you currently run with it)?

CLK 55 AMG 2005 and CLK 63 AMG cab.2007 - 2009 EVO - 2013 ML63 AMG - 2018 G63 AMG
Interesting...
Soo if you have a
CLK 320-350-500-550 = sprint booster non-AMG
CLK 55-63 = ???
Cause my AMG is kind of already quick on the throttle
is this product $$$, easy install ?
Thanks on the info 2MCHCAR

i think the sprint booster is completely useless and extremely expensive
the increase of the pedal reaction is inappreciable, it's only like having a heavier foot

Part numbers are "BDD451A" normal version and " BDD451A2" AMG version. If you have the CLK55-63, you want the AMG version. You can find it at places like ebay for $250-$300 and I heard it's easy to install. I'm leaning toward the Non-AMG version.

I had the non-AMG version and it was a noticeable difference. I would think that if they tamed down the AMG version, it wouldn't be worth it on a non-AMG. Stick to the non-AMG version if you want to feel the difference.

I've been telling you guys for YEARS !!!! I love the Sprint booster !!!! I used it on my Clk 430, CL 55 and Clk 500 Cabriolet. I removed it one time on my Clk 500 Cabriolet to save gas and sold it (when gas were at $4.75). After only 2 weeks I bought another one because I can't deal with the throttle lag compared when I has the Sprint Booster installed.

. I'm also buying a new set of 19" C63 style wheels again, for my Clk 500 Cabriolet. I'm gonna have it paint the center spokes to match my car color. It could look really good........or look really gay.
. We'll find out soon.

Here's my honest opinion. The first Sprint booster I ever bought were the non-AMG version because there were no AMG version yet. I love it so much when first installed but after awhile, I wish it could be a little less aggressive specially during traffic stop and go traffic jam. Then came the AMG version and I bought one. I try it both on my AMG and non-AMG cars and like the AMG version most on both cars. If you have an AMG car, I would not recommend the non-AMG version.

You know......in reality, you can use either one for both car. It just a matter of how much responsiveness you like. The only thing difference between the two version is......the non-AMG version is more aggressive then the AMG version . Like I said before, I like the AMG most on all mine cars. Mine CL 55 is NA and I didn't like the non-AMG version with it.
