Pics of my Kenwood DNX 5120 setup on my 2004 w209 CLK
So I finally had the time to upload pictures of my new AV setup. I decided to go with a Kenwood DNX 5120 (Built-in Garmin Navi, DVD, CD, I-Pod intergration, Back up camera, Bluetooth, Sirius etc). I got tired of the stock cassette HU, so I went ahead with the switch. After a couple hours of labor, the shop installed the new HU, bypass the DVD player to play while driving, center console I-pod cord and back-up camera (soon bluetooth).
There are a couple of things I lost though: CD changer (which I don't really mind since I have I-pod intergration now), steering wheel volume and seek control (I have a wireless remote) and OEM bose amplifier. I had a used 6 channel JL-Audio layin around the house so I decided to use that to power all the OEM speakers and back subs. The sound is clear and everything is working properly .

Thanks y'all and Sleewell thanks for convincing me to pick this unit. The kit I used is for the 2002-2004 C-Class, apparently they don't make any kits specifically for W209s. The double-din kit used is a Scorche MZ2340B, I got it on e-bay for dirt cheap $24.99 (e-bay seller Tpranzatelli), it fits like a glove with the unit. Just make sure you pick a well knowlegeable installer when making the switch, I actually had to go through a couple of places and it was a pain. But as you can see the end result is all worth it !!

dude its a great unit, you will love it. install looks great.
i know what you are talking about with finding the right shop. i went to two others before i found Gold Star, they both wanted 600-700 bucks just for the labor for the install of only the head unit!!! i got the head unit and flip down dvd unit for the backseat for a fraction of that and i feel that the quality of the work is better over at Gold Star than the other places. you just have to shop around and use this site, there are tons of good people here and we all are willing to help each other - its a great place if you love cars the way we all do.
you are going to love the bluetooth too, when it detects your phone it automatically drops your phone's contact list into the unit. you can also setup voice activation, its all really easy and works perfectly.

Steering Wheel Control
There is a steering wheel control that works with you car. I had it installed in my 2004 CLK55 for an Alpine HU. It is a piece from Germany and works specifically for 2003-2004 CLK models only and with Alpine, Kenwood and Pioneer. PM if you want to buy it.
If anyone is interested, I also have some other audio items that are custom specific for the W209 CLK models including:
(1) Subwoofer enclosure with JL Audio 8W7 in special bandpass design with plexiglass view of woofer and enclosure interior. Interior is painted black with MB automotive paint w/clear coat. This subwoofer was installed in my 2004 CLK55 convertible and will fit any W209 CLK convertible. It was powered with JL Audio 500/1 which I am keeping for use in another vehicle but I recommend an amp of this caliber for this high-quality woofer. Will fit in any W209 CLK convertible model from 2003-2009 and sits behind rear seat under boot area for convertible. Very little reduction of trunk space and produces huge amounts bass flat and clear down to 20-hz. Sounds great with top up and even better with top down. It will probably fit the non-convertible but I'm not sure how the trunk may differ.
(2) Head unit installation bezel for double-DIN head unit. Works in any 2003-2004 CLK model and looks identical the one pictured at the beginning of this thread.
(3) CAN-BUS module that allows remote control operation of convertible top and windows using the stock key. With this module installed, you can open the top by pressing unlock three times, close top by pressing lock button three times, open windows by pressing unlock two times, close windows by pressing lock two times. Modules installs very easily near driver seat footwell.
I have a number of other car audio items available for sale that were in my CLK55 but are not specific to the vehicle:
(1) Audiocontrol DQL-8. This unit allows stock audio system to connect to aftermarket amplifiers/speakers and provides equalization to remove factory speaker settings to provide a flat response. Also provides a second audio input for iPod or aftermarket head unit.
(2) Soundstream component speaker system. Includes two 6.5" midbass woofers that fit our CLK doors perfectly, two 1" tweeters that fit our CLK tweeter locations perfectly, and two passive crossovers that I had installed near the amplifiers.
(3) Alpine PXA-H701. Works with Alpine head units using AI Net connection to provide 5.1 audio processing, 1/3-octave equalization, parametric equalization, media expander, active crossover system, and audio time alignment.
(4) McIntosh MC443. 300-watt @ 4-ohm or 500-watt @ 2-ohm monoblock subwoofer amplifier with power guard.
(5) McIntosh MC440M. 6-channel amplifier, 100-watt x 2 + 50-watt x 4. Configurable for 6, 5, or 4 channel operation, 2-ohm stable, power guard, built-in electronic crossover, dual illuminated output level meters in McIntosh glass w/blue LED lighting.
Just send a PM if anyone is interested in something listed above. All items were professionally removed from my 2004 CLK55.

For steering wheel controls, goto you the pac-audio website and find out which units you need. For my 2005 CLK320, I needed the PAC SWI-X and the PAC SWI-CAN2. You'll have to see if it's any different for the CLK500. On the site the MSRP is $85 each, but you can find the units on amazon or ebay for around $35 each or less.
I'm picking up a 8120 today! Also, does anyone know if installing an aftermarket HU voids your warranty?

The picture can be seen on my newest thread (new pics), I bought a cheap one on Ebay for a trial, but it works well so I decided to keep it. You should be able to see it, bolt on to the rear license plate. It's big but hey it does the job and for only $19, I can't complain. I used a different set of screws to deter thiefs.
