quick rim question
quick rim question
hey guys, just a quick question. Do you guys think we can fit 19x8.5 front ET45 and 19x9.5 rear ET45 fit our clks? I know the offsets are high but what about with 10mm spacers? Thanks
If you use spacers, make sure that you buy the spacer that fit the front wheel hub. My 10mm spacer wouldn't slide through my front wheel hub but no problem slide through the rear hub. The front wheel hub on my Clk 500 is about 2mm bigger. I've never has this problems with my Clk 430 and Slk 230.

No, you can still ask for a 10mm spacer but make it for the front wheel hub. The spacer center hole need to bored out a couple mm bigger. You might not have any problem. My car is a 2006 model and so Mercedes did alot of changed with that year.

If you're planning to purchase 10mm H&R spacers, they have different part numbers for front (20556659) and rear (2055665). H&R spacers are not interchangeable between both axles except the 3 and 5 mm spacers.
keep in mind that the offset requirement also vary by the spoke design. i am in a difficult situation right now where i bought wheels that have a 2" lip up front and a 4" lip in the back. the fronts were 18x8 et30. an ideal offset for clks right? wrong. it hits the caliper. I ordered 5mm spacers hoping it would cover it brining my offset to 25mm, the caliper still hits. I stacked two 5mm spacers bringing it down to 20mm and now its ok. but i have to look for 10mm hubcentric spacers now.
I think the front hub is a little tapered towards the base because there is only one way you can place the hubcentric spacer, that is the bigger taper facing inside.
by the way does anyone know what the size of the stock bolts are? if we were to run 10mm spacers we need to change our lugs and i could not find a resource for it. is it 12x1.5 40mm? also, what brand is commonly used? ive heard horror stories, one in the c63 amg forum where all his five bolts broke while driving through twisties. yikes!
Still interested in my BS spoiler? It's mid April now

Stock lugs are 12x1.5 about 38-40 mm. You can purchase longer lugs from RAD USA or H&R.
I like your current wheels so BS spoiler is more of a priority to complement your CF lip.

I wish its still there when i get the $ lol.
