Window Tint
I am thinking to get window tints for my 2004 CLK320 Coupe. The store suggested 35% tint all around and said they would have to install moleskin.
I checked the windows today; I found the gap to be quite tight; not sure if there is room for the moleskin? Also, to install the moleskin, do they have to remove the inside door panel?

35% is the legal maximum here. Also, it may affect night time vision if I go too dark (to see the street number, etc).
Question: Do they have to remove the inside door panel to install the moleskin?

A good installer with MB knowledge will be able to remove the window seal by loosening the door panel and sliding the seal towards the outside door edge. My installer then used a high quality 'loop side' of hook & loop with acrylic self stick adhesive to easily attach to window seal. Here in the desert, common moleskin glue will eventually seperate and smear the tinting. My guy charged $50 for both doors...and on the W209 it is required if the tinting is to last. Good luck...

The guy did the tint for my CLK on Monday. So far I can see he did a very good job. I will check for bubbles this weekend because it takes a few days for the windows to dry out.
He told me that he did not have to remove the door panels. He replaced the inside window groove with mole skin.

It has been 2 weeks and the window tints should be full dry now.
I looked around and so far, I found 3 very, very small bubbles on one of the rear windows. I think I am going to leave it.
The installer did tell me that the rear windows were extremely difficult to work with because they moved every time the doors were opened.
