removing the Center console

Hi all, need help figuring this out before I break something. My center console cover broke yesterday, as well as the unit it attaches to (unit that accepts the hinges on both sides - does anyone have instructions on how to remove this or has done it before? For 03 CLK

it looks like you need to cut the cable tie for the call service buttons and then the entire unit pulls out somehow, but not sure. Thanks!

Hi

I think that you are not referring here to the center console. That is where the radio and a/c unit are housed.

Your question is about the center armrest with telephone stowage. I agree it is a puzzle - I've taken a look at mine and I cannot figure out how to answer your problem.

Let's hope someone else has done this and can help

I've replaced the ash tray cover actually the whole unit has to be replaced as one because the lid hinge broke.

yeah actually the cover came off, and then I broke one of the hinges on the bottom unit trying to get it back on. Actually the armrest/cover itself is ok.

Note there are no screws ^^^

So it is all clips, and knowing where to press and where to pull... Let us know when/how you crack it.
