Diffuser installation guide.....
Pic 1:
There's two people just bought the diffuser and needed help how to install. Put one layer of 3m tapes around the diffuser as shown in the pic. Drill the hole on the diffuser (both side) (see "blue dot" in pic). These holes allow you to use tie wrap and tie it to your bumper. The diffuser ends (see "blue circle" in pic) need to be flush, if not, use JB weld 4 minutes bond to fill it in to make it flush. It need to be flush so that you can put 3m tapes there to hold the diffuser to the bumper.
Pic 2:
Put 2 layers of 3m tapes across the lower pumper (see "red" line in pic). Put one layer of 3m tapes around on the top edge of the bumper "black cover".

Let me get this straight.
Is this correct?
You told me NOT to drill in carbon fiber...
but if I do drill now 2 holes for the tie wrap... do I need to drill
into my bumper for the tie wrap
(I guess we can see the tie wrap when you look at the diffuser closely
from behind)
I'm going at the shop at 1pm Estern time (your in Cali ? i'm 3 hour in front of you)
Thanks Linh for the help
I appreciate
Tony

I wouldn't think so. Its just an add on to the exterior of the bumper. The muffler and tips should not get in the way. I am not sure about the drilling, maybe Ling can clarify, but if I were to install a diffuser I would use the 3M tape and some sort of strong adhesive. But, Ling has done it, so hopefully he can shed some more light onto this. Good luck and that diffuser looks sick!

You told me NOT to drill in carbon fiber...I only remembered telling not to drill the bumper for installation if the diffuser came with screws but to break of those screws and flush it out with JB weld bond and use 3m tape instead.
but if I do drill now 2 holes for the tie wrap... do I need to drill
into my bumper for the tie wrap I didn't say anything about drilling into the bumper.
(I guess we can see the tie wrap when you look at the diffuser closely
from behind) No, with black tie wrap and it way up on the exhaust tips
I'm going at the shop at 1pm Estern time (your in Cali ? i'm 3 hour in front of you) I guess it too late now with these responses.
So with all this 3m tapes extreme hold=no need to put some on the bumper itself Pic 2 clearly shown that to put 3m tapes around the upper edge of the blackout cover bumper (see blue line in pic 2) and 2 layers of 3m taped on the bumper below the blackout cover (see red line in pic 2)

Just came back from the shop...
We decided that there's NO WAY the diffuser will hold good
with 3M tape only!
The back of the diffuser is too rough to apply good 3M.
And the bottom part of the diffuser goes lower then the stock middle
bumper soo it does a parachute effect = may unglue the part in the long
run and at 150 mph
Bottom line, were are going to super glue with special 3M paste glue
and for the space between the diffuser and stock bottom bumper
we will use sprea foam to fill the space to not have the parachute effect.
Will do on Monday.
What do you guys think?

Finally installed
Soo NO 2 way 3M tape.
We used a 3M super paste glue on the black plastic bumper part
(don't know the name, I think it's in the red 3M section...)
And spray foam that expend, too fill the gap underneat
Here we go
My 2 cent: Looks good ! but I find the product is still not perfect
for my taste. The carbon fiber is close to the my exhaust and the install
is not bolt-on. (VIS shoud have thought, how and where to install
bolts or clips...
Anyway
Product quality: 10/10
Product fitment: 7/10
Production install: 4/10 (I like bolt-on)
I'm very happy with this mod !
Thanks to Tak at VIS and Linh on the forum
I'll go enjoy

Glad I could help the community
BTW
my install was around 300$ :S (the 3M glue is like 100$ )
Your's should be less, I had the install and remove the 3M 2Way tape
Don't forget to post your pix when installed

I like Klinh's install because it was cheaper and the 3M tape is pretty strong, but I would like his advice on it or help when installing. Obviously, cheaper doesn't mean better, but it seems to be working for him.
Does anyone have Tak's email? I want to get in touch with him via email since I won't have much phone reception for the next couple days.
Sorry for the rant and both cars look awesome!

Sold - CLK500
i bought a diffuser from eurorev and was not impressed with the quality, plus the install was a huge hassle, lets be serious, its gonna cost you near to $800 to get this on the car because u have to rework the exhaust...
i like my setup it looks clean and i just had my factory bumper cut.
i belive the diffuser you have is from euroteck, which is better quality though

3M GLUE
For the info on the Glue I used for the install:
Structual 3M glue 8115
you need the glue gun that goes with it to do the job right
Good luck

Hey guys, Klinh...
I have just taken delivery of my VIS diffuser.
To be honest, I can't see how you guys are getting this diffuser to stay in place with just 3M tape.
The diffuser fits nicely along the top edge of the black section of the bumper alright, but one end of the diffuser hangs down away from the body. I suspect that this will need a strong adhesive to hold it against the bottom edge of the bumper without it springing away.
Also, where the diffuser swoops down under the car, it struggles to fit nicely either side of the existing silver lower section of the bumper - below the black section.
One other thing, I can't see why you have put 3M tape along the bottom bumper section, below the black section, because the diffuser doesn't go anywhere near this part of the bumper. There is actually a 2 inch or so gap between the diffuser and the existing bumper - see FatTony's picture, where he filled this gap with expanding foam.
I'm alittle annoyed that it seems like it will take quite abit of work to get this to fit and stay in place.
It also looks as though I may need to cut off the bottom section of the bumper completely (the silver section below the black trim bit) in order to get it in place properly.
I will be looking to install it when the weather is better and I will keep you all informed.
In the meantime, if any of you have any advice or tips, I would very much love to hear from you!
Thanks guys.
