New to me CLK500

Hi guys,

just got back into a benz, i had a 04 C320 Manual 6spd, did a few mods to it but then sold it after a few months, wanted something more fun. Well i got rid of that and then got a 2006 350z, fun but not what i wanted ultimately, sold that after only a month or so, finished up working on my Supra, paint, interior restoration, engine seals, rebuilt turbo, replace wastegate to tial, etc... finally got it done and wanted something nice to drive to work, so i found a CLK500 with AMG pkg. Black on Black, im in love with it and have plans for a few mods on it, nothing crazy. Already i smoked the white part of the tails, and black smoke the front side market (light still shines through), 8k replacement hid bulb. have on order LED front parking lights and license plate light. other then that im thinking front lip and be done with it.
Thinking im finally set on these two cars for a while, after being through 6 cars in the last year or so i think im finally happy.

Now on to the pictures...

02 BMW 330ci

Custon trunk enclosure, Brembo brakes, Hamman side, AcSchnitzer rear, MVR front cabron lip, CSL carbon trunk lip, blah blah blah.. SOLD

94 Rx-7 FD3S

Monster Port motor, GT4202, Greddy 3row, HKS twin fire, blah blah blah...Total part out

01 Ducati 748

Magnesium rims, custom pearl red/black paint, Termigoni carbon exhaust, Desmo Chip, blah blah blah...SOLD

04 C320

06 350z

The CLK looks beautiful and I'm not even going to say anything about the Supra

I'm glad you got rid of the 350z (sorry I'm not a fan of those)

Welcome back to the forums.

Paint, its Testor paint for hobbie cars, its the somke version not the tint version, i use the smoke version for the front side market. I only wanted a slight tint on the back, only about 2 coats.

Yeah well you know lol..i ordered a set of 5mm and 10mm to see what fits better, mainly because the one right now cause a vibration at above 50mph. hopefully the smaller spacer will provide enough spacer to get the rim to sit more and get rid of the vibration.

Forget the cars. Tell me the 748 will be replaced by an 848 (the rattle of the dry clutch will be missed, but at 45 pounds lighter and 30% more power, it won't be missed for long), or dare I say it an 1198S. If only I weren't such a 636 fan (and cheap) . . . . . . .

the 748 is gone, not getting replaced by anything.. Im a huge kawi fan, i had 3 636, one 03 and two 04, IMO they are the best 600 class bike from 03-06, point blank. i love throwing it down at the road course, most fun i ever had. Got out of the bike thing, no time, and for other reasons.

One thing I do like about the silver CLK is that a number of neighbors and friends (that are not big MB experts) are doing double-takes thinking something's different about my C-Class coupe these days....

on the contrary, it run better as an auto at high power levels. a fresh rebuilt auto, 3800 stall, and a 63mm turbo with a .68 A/R= no boost lag or lost between shifts. When you get into it, the fastest cars are auto in one for or another, search and see. IMO under 300rwhp manual are fun, over that then its annoying at best any other place then a road course. Look above you will see my FD, that was way over 500rwhp and i will say it was fun but quite annoying in traffic. If i could change transmission it will still be an auto but something that will handle 1000rwhp and with the same TRQ

well if you want to see what it feels like in my car, have someone shove you back in the seat as hard as they can then pretend the car is braking the rear end loose side to side while i try to correct it. lol..
