my friend is a mechanic. i showed it to him and he said it was a nice piece.he said we would need to drop the shocks and springs and do i little trimming in the engine bay to install it. a couple of hours work is what he told me. he would put it in for me next month.I'm having him change out my coolant and brake fluid as well. but I'm on the fence about the strut brace. if anyone wants it, I'll sell it for $200.

99CLK320,
VIPclk320's front and read bars

If you guys haven't checked this out https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...-tie-bars.html and the rear is https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...ut-bars-2.html

I have not vested interest. I have read that a 209er bought both the front and rear. Look for VIPclk320 over on the 208 forum. He is a money manager by day and custom fabricates these bars as a hobby. I have the rear bar and I installed it myself(very easy(1/2hour)) and I'm waiting for the front bar to come. The bars are adjustable and you can tighten them up to make the handlling as stiff as you want. He also made a cold air ram intake that I have alos but none left at this time. Check it out.

I just check out your rear adjustable bar from the link............and it a joke in my opinion. The strut brace/chassis brace is used to stiffed up the chassis from flexing under hard corner. The only way for it to work is is bolt it to the chassis NOT onto the shock like on the w208 chassis. Both w208 and w209 use shocks in the rear therefore, you CAN'T mount the brace onto the shock. Under hard corning, you will damages the shock shaft and damages the seal. The only way for your to stiffed up the rear is to change the swap bar to a thicker one and you can also do that for the front.
