Is the aux standard on the CLK500? I do have a CDC on my car. I got the car used and the previous owner connected a cable directly on the back of the radio. I can plug in my ipod and it work through the radio. But it's not a FM transmitter.

It's not standard, but it seems like you already have this installed already. So you connect through your glove compartment right?
It looks like this right.

My aux cable goes directly into the radio and comes out to the ash tray area (near the cig lighter). It's a ghetto upgrade. I gonna check if I have the Aux in the glove box when i get home today. If i find it, I gonna cut that ghetto cable out and just use aux input.

Hmm... do you have the Audio 20 headunit? Do you have to hold down CDC to activate the AUX input?
If so, previous owner probably had it installed and just routed the male 3.5mm jack through the ash tray for easy access (and they probably only had an iPod shuffle or something. It sucked when I had my phone in the glove compartment, not to mention dangerous. If you look at that thread I linked... the dude routed it through the upper part of the center armrest.

When you're in your car, hold down the CDC button for like 5 seconds. If your HUD or COMMAND displays, "AUX Input Active" then it should work. Also check the right hand side of your glove if you have that little bubble. That's the spot where the female 3.5mm will come through the side of your glove compartment.

Let me know when to send payment, I'm ready to go and anxious to purchase once you give the go ahead! (Secretly hoping the other dude flakes!

Anyway, I'm going to give the guy till morning (9am). I sent him two PM's already. If he doesn't hit me up and send payment, I'll send it your way. I'll bring it with me to work, so once we exchange info I can mail it out on my break(should he flake).

Haha... I'm glad it works. That was the first thing I installed in my car. I was so happy when I figured that out and came across the DIY. I hated burning CD's cause I would get sick of them after a day or two!

Right now, it's sold and payment has been made. But unfortuantely I had to break of a couple of the clips on the back of it to remove it from the glove. It still works and will fit snug into it. I sent him some pics and waiting for his response. If he doesn't want it anymore, I'll put it back up and let you know if you're still interested. I'll email you pics if you want. PM me your addy and I'll send from my phone. This thing wasn't made to be uninstalled!!
