I finally got around to purchase a warranty and to i spoke to the rep to set it up and they asked me do u have any modifications to the car exhaust rims lowered and i said yes and they automatically denied me coverage wtf.. they said regardless if your engine or braking or cooling system goes wrong and it has nothing to do with your modifications your claim will not be honered ..now the whole reason i wanted to get this warranty because i have the dreaded tranny problem..and i chaged the radiator already and did the tranny flush to no luck and i thought hey let me get the warranty and wait 30 days 1000miles and have it fixed and have my car covered for other things and they said when the inspector comes to see the problem if he sees and mods are done you will not be covered for anything and they denied me the warranty this is by carchex . com the most popular one i found and they said no other warranty company will do it either dont even bother. what can i do i dont want to buy a new tranny damn,,, any help guys does anybody know warranty companys that will..i have bilstein shocks with hr springs and straight pipes this is really frustrating.

no the thing is i was relying on it because a tranny rebuilt cost 3k-4k so i figured cool warranty company will take 500 dollars down and pay 150 a month for about 18 months and 30days/1000miles wait time so i figured why not get a warranty have my tranny fixed and have other components covered on the car for 4 years 48000mls made sence to me but they wouldnt sell it to me and if they did they said that i would be out of the money because they wouldnt cover it i looked them up they happen to be one of the most reputable companies carchex . com and warranty direct. com they both told me the same..as far as you go im not sure if you have the original warranty or if it came with the car or if you bought it afterwards and they knew your mods im not so good with this warranty stuff and now my tranny is about to give up very soon and its gonna be hard to come up with the money for the fix its terrible and they told me "we know it doesnt make sence logically that shocks might be the reason for a transmission to stop working or anything electrical but thats how it works" im like ok bye its unbelievable im stuck

Interesting, I had the same trans issue and extended 3rd party warranty. They covered the total work $7+k with $100 deductible. My car was stock at that time, still is. I will see if I can get some inside info from my Mercedes mechanic.

I don't see how a deferent exhaust or spring / coilovers, could posibly make a deference. I mean if you need to change your muffler and go to some local muffler place and get it replaced with some junk or some performance one, how would that invalidate your warranty? And rims? who cares if you have 17" stock or 18 or 19 aftermarket ones. Rims are rims?

I dont have the original warranty but aftermarket forgot what it called . This is all I know I have to pay $100 deductible if i bring the car to get it fix on something but the car has been running smooth and everything
. Im thinking to get the spark plugs change soon (56k miles at the clock) but no clue they gona cover it or not (anyone knows ? lol )... just dont have time to bring the car in yet.
Edit: If I were you ima hunt "ZEEK" down LOL.

yea i think you got the same warranty that iwas looking at getting the thing is they dont inspect he car you just have to wait 30 days 1000 miles for first claim and anything up to 1500 they dont send anyone out but they said anything over theyll send inspector and if they see any mods at all even aftermarket rims theyll deny coverage so be careful man then theyll note it and wont cover you for anything in the future thats how they made it sound to me...yea man i dont know zeek told me everything is fine but not even 5 months down the line tranny broke cps sensor went bad the whole alignment is completely of bushings needed to be changed..i just thought buying from a forum member would save me the headaches but iguess not..

its really going to be up to the mechanic and how good they are to prove their point, but i've gotten close to $4k in work done to my car with suspension, exhaust, wheels, lip, all sorts of things. if the adjuster makes a neausence about the mods the mechanic just needs to explain how it has nothing to do with said claim.
