It also depends on brand of tire and tire design. Some brands run narrower than others, and some designs are more rounded than square.

2003 CLK500
Oh ok i get it about the tire and wheel design, as far as i know spacers goes between the whels but im confused though because if the spacers bring out the wheel closer to the fender line since its a thick metal how is it that without spacers it will rub but spacers will help ??? ...sorry if im missing something Supafly i might be understanding the meaning of spacers completely wrong maybe you can point me in the right direction ? Thanks

i have that setup on my car at the moment with falken 452 tires, and when i did not have spacers; it rubbed a bit against the shock tower liner in big bumps.

Shock tower liner? Can you explain more detail? The part on your tire that it rubbed, is it inside or out side of the tires?

in the rear, the outside plastic dirt liner for the shock was burned through by the side of the tire before i put the spacers on.
