+1. On the original post, BadBlack550 ask if other MBworld members have had similar experiences with an E92 M3 from a rolling start. So far no other MBworld member with a CLK550 has tried it (or responded to this thread). Then out of no where two "newbies" YKCITS (Join date Jan 2010, 6 total posts) and MPOWER (Join date Feb 2010, 2 total posts) started going off topic. I smell some trolls......

But all I was saying is that CLK 550 beats M3 in a rolling start drag race.
I am not even trying to prove anything I am just trying to see if others had the same experiences.
The M3 makes more power and is lighter.

The M3 has less drivetrain loss.

The M3 has run mid 12's stock.

The M3 has trapped 114-115 stock.

The M3 has run high 10 second 60-130's.

The CLK550 traps 108 stock on a good day in magazines.

The CLK550 has less power.

The CLK550 weighs more.

The CLK550 is not geared as well.

The CLK550 transmission shifts slower.

No owner has broken into the 12's with the CLK550 yet when the M3 runs mid 12's stock.

WAKE UP, people on other forums are mocking you like none other, it is hilarious. Gain some respect back and just man up and say you made it all up. Don't be Roger Clemens, be Andy Petite.

The troll is the OP

This link is being passed around the internet as other forums are mocking him.

Don't get upset because FACTS and REALITY are not with the MB.

I once saw a clk 550 beat an enzo. I even have a pic of the clk in front of the enzo to prove it won.

I'm not here to argue with you, I'm here to give you the perspective of an outsider. Take from it what you want. But if you are just trying to cement yourself as an internet troll then thats fine.

Peace

ok 1 more time
I raced 4 M3s and beat them all, its a fact!
Were they best M3 Drivers I dont know!
But we ran a few times with each car.

They all were 6 speed, so may be they not the best shifters.
Can an M3 beat CLK550 possible i am not doubting that.

I wrote on the forum to see if this happened to other and not to spoil anybody's forum experience.

And Again if anybody would like to make me look bad I am available for a rolling start race.

All these numbers you guys are listing, mean nothing.

There were no recorded race between an M3 and CLK 550 so there is no proof otherwise. You be the one to make the history and make yourself be the winner of the INTERNET! lol

C63
It calms the guy, I decided to sell my brand new M3 because I was impressed by the torque and the AMG V8 sound ... I love it, but it does not go a day without I regret my M3! The reactions of the chassis, the steering precision, the sound when the engine reaches 8000rpm and when the car is properly conducted, the performance is really excellent. My C63 is truly a beast, but the M3 is a race car.

E90 M3
Let me start by saying, I've been racing Sports Cars and Formula Cars for 18 years and I leave my racing on the track. I really couldn't give 2 sh-ts about this arguement so, we put them to the test today. My 09 E90 M3 and my brothers 09 550 CLK. BTW,my bro has Zero racing experience. BadBlack, I have to say that if you did beat those cars, the drivers were terrible! We did 2 runs from 0-100 in our cars then switched up. Then we did 60-130 runs. The zero to 100 runs weren't too dramatic, the clk traction control cuts in way too early off the line and, when its's off, couldn't hook up as well as the M3. It was beaten off of the line and all the way up to 100, I was up about 2.5 lengths and pulling away and, when I drove the 550, I was down 1.5 lengths and my bro was pulling on me. The 60-130 runs were a JOKE, no less than 4 lengths with me driving and 3 with my brother and pulling away. Anyone in Florida who thinks differently(chrislis or anyone), I'd be willing to meet you at any florida drag strip and you can give your 550, a shot at an M3. BTW, there was a guy at my last event at sebring with a CLK 63 Black and, that car is impressive! I still beat him on the track but, I have a lot more racing experience than that guy, with a good driver, the believe Black would take the M3. It should be faster for $50K more. My $0.02.

AMG
From a roll the only thing that really matters is torque... plain & simple. In that regard the 550 motor is MUCH stronger than the M3. Easily believable if the M3 is stock (especially if it was stick).

Now you could always do headers, pulley & high flow 2nd cats to make it more even from a stand still, but from a roll with that setup should be relatively easy to take one down.

What parts do you offer a CLK550? I stright piped my second cats (which wasn't a cat it was just a silencer for me). Could i replace the cats under the headers? And or do you have pully's for the 550?

Agreed. The M3's 295 FT LB of Torque against 550's 391 Ft LB Torque @ 2.8 RPM. The 550's ability to beat a stock M3 is very possible at a drag. M3 is only crazy fast if it is up in high revs.

LOL - from a roll its more about HP, from a dig you want the torque. Why do you think the E60 M5 is stronger from a roll than the E55 AMG yet the E55 is stronger from a stop? Huh? You sell performance products and yet you don't understand these cars performance?

Relatively east to take one down from a roll? This is too much The top end and going from a roll would be the M3's strength.

Read up about torque at the axle sometime so you guys going by peak crank torque figures can understand the effect of gearing. It is embarrassing to see so many ill informed so called MB enthusiasts.

Are you serious with this? The only way the CLK550 is doing is what he described is if it is FASTER than a C63 AMG, do you have any idea what you are talking about?

Really? What part about M3's having hit 11's and low 12's with far less crank torque do you not understand?

Wow... why aren't we all in diesels. Your understanding of torque through the driveline and its relation to horsepower is... well, it is sad.

The CLK550 is not even competition for a stock M3 but some of you actually desperately want to believe it, too funny.

This guy seems to think the M3 is only fast up top in the revs... yet that is where races from a roll take place... oh my, MB fanboys, please pick a stance as you guys are confusing yourselves. It is fun to watch though.

Very nice to see that some of you do get it. The CLK is a nice car, but no reason to blindly accept things that aren't true.
