A New Owner of CLK350

Hi guys, I just received my 07 CLK350 that I bought from Ohio and got it shipped to Seattle. The car just comes with 1 key and I thought the dealer told me that everything from the factory is complete.

How many keys does it come from the factory? And how much to order and program the spare key if I need to have another one?
How much to buy a manual book for my CLK? Do you mind to tell me what I should get from the dealer?

Also, is there anyway that the dealer put a false carfax on their site? When I click the carfax on the dealer's site, it directed me to carfax.com and shows everything there so there should be nothing that I have to worry about, right?

Thanks in advance

My car came without a spare also. I Had to purchase it seperate. Just contact you local dealer. The spare key has been covered a few times. Use the search you should find a few threads. You should be able to find a manual on eBay. With the amount of money that ur spending on the car what's a couple dollars to run you own carfax just to be sure.

In Canada they spec. out the key remote and the key insert (the metal mechanical key) as separate parts. I just ordered one for my CLK which I just bought. (an '05). It cost 282.80. It has to come from Germany. Worth having - as you know the system will uniquely identify each key with the driver and you can customize the seat positions etc. based on the key in use. (I also replaced my cracked third brake light myself but for 244.40) Not cheap but nice to know it's now intact.

I have replaced the third brake light twice. This time I didn't tighten the nuts too much so the base doesn't pull against the lens. That's where it always breaks on me

It a really bad design part. I replaced one on my friend's 2006 clk 500 and only fingers tighted it.

How about if I buy a spare key from eBay? Do you think third party garage (Mercedes Garage) can program it? How many keys do come from the manufacture?

It sucks! I might try super glue on the base of the lens

I wouldn't trust go through eBay for a spare key. Play it safe and go through the dealer. I might be a little expensive but most things on these cars are.

Thanks guys. Now, I'm in the middle of making decision to buy a Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT to swap my headunit but I have to lose my steering wheel control and CD changer.
The Z110BT is on sale for $800. Any comment?

PAC makes an interface for you to keep your steering wheel controls. You have to check if that HU is supported

^ Does anyone with W209 use PAC already? I know there's a member that uses PAC on his W208 but still not sure about W209.

I tried to search for the required wiring to change the HU but cannot find that thread. I saw it somewhere. Do you mind to tell what are the wiring to have an aftermarket HU working with stock sound system?

See pg. 121 in your manual. My car is Canadian - "you can store up to three different settings per smartkey. The memory settings (stored via the door switch "M") are key-dependent and can be deactivated if desired. See also "setting key-dependency" on page 160.

You have to turn it on in the system menu (in the speedo.) "Key-dependent" off or on.

Can anyone tell me how to use the keyless-go? It doesn't work or maybe I'm doing it wrong.
