Yes the housing fits but you will need to bend a bit of the car to get the socket panel locked in. I used a pair of pliers. The whole install took me about 30 min just because I had previously taken out the lining and never put the clips back

many thanks, is it just a case of a slight mod because the old lense may need to go back in one day and i want them to fit again

Well that socket panel on the updated tails is a different shape. You just have to bend a piece of the inner part of the car to get them to fit. Your basically just making the hole wider. Your old lights shouldn't have a problem being put back in. I will be doing some work in my trunk tomorrow if you like I will take some pics. It's pretty straight forward

See dyno's pic above, it looks asthough it's bent slightly to fit the bulb casing

I circled it. You will know what part needs to be bent once you take out the old lights.

Yea but it's pretty thin. With a pair of pliers you should be fine

I changed mine last year and it's been giving me error messages on the dash, saying something about replacement light ... anyone know how to fix this issue? Thanks

I had that error with my old lights. I tried to change a couple bulbs to LED. Only one worked so I left it in. After a while I started to get the same error. Once I switched the bulb back it went away

Try and swap out the bulbs on the side that's giving the error

I tired to make sure it would still line up with the foam seal on the light housing. Keep the outside elements out

sorry, I didn't take pics when I'm working on it. Yes, I need to make a modification on the tail lights housing. I bent the metal just like what dynomite05 said. It's not too difficult though

Thank you for your answer.
On your picture the grill looks like the one sitting on the new C class.

Have a nice day!

Dyno, are your rear lights the original AMG lights or are they modified some how, because they look very dark.
I just got my AMG lights today and they are not as dark as your (side markers).

Thanks!
