Headlights adjustment for 2006 Clk 500

I remember reading some posts from people asking how to do adjustment on their healight. Some people post some pics but it wasn't clear. I decided to took some pics of my car at night and do a little fine tune headlights adjustment on mine.

Pic 1 - Show the screw for the verticle adjustment of the headlight. Use a 13mm socket and turn it clockwise for the headlight to go up and counter clockwise for the headlight to go down.

Pic 2 - Show the screw for the horizontal adjustment of the headlight. Use a long philip screw drive and turn it clockwise for the headlight to go toward the right side and counter clockwise to go toward the left side. Btw, the verticle screw has a cover/tap. You must push the cover/tap toward the front of the car before you can stick the philip screw drive in there. Good luck.

Nice... did you get a brembo BBK or did you just paint your OEM calipers?

I wouldn't use those stuffs even if it free and I wouldn't use spray can for the job either. Brush is less messy and give you much better control. The brand I used came with epoxy which give you the shine and non fade protection. Just do a search on Ebay for G2 brake caliber paint then choose the colors you want. I didn't need to remove any of the calibers for the job. Just tape off place where you don't want paint it.

Well, I spent about 4 hrs for the job. I applied 3 coats of paint, each coat on the hrs. Pick a hot day and do it in the garage where the wind can be control. The G2 Paint are the best I seen. It really shine !!!!

for clarification on my 03 320, there was no tap/cover for the vertical adjustment but for the horizontal adjustment, there was a cover/tap over it. basically the vertical is on the inner of the two and use a 13mm socket as klinh said.

Bi-Xenon headlight adjustment

My 2008 CLK550 has a sensor clamped to the sway bar on the front passenger side.
I replaced the control arms, tie rod ends and sway bar links, and I had to remove this sensor to facilitate the repair. I put this sensor back on its wear mark on the arm, but got the "knee" backwards. The arm on the sensor should be near horizontal and I had the knee backward, so this arm was near vertical. I shaded the light sensor by throwing a T shirt on the windshield where the rear view mirror is mounted to get the AUTO headlights to come on in the daylight. I noticed that with the level sensor arm in the horizontal position, I could affect the headlight height on my garage door. Moving the arm up raises both headlights. Be careful not to aim too high, as the Bi-Xenon lamps will cause oncoming drivers eyeballs to burst into flames.
