I am not sure if the low dust have more braking power than the oem ones...About the wipers, I just purchased a set through parts.com..They are OEM I believe and it took me about 2 minutes to install..Here is the part # 2038201845 sold in pairs

Nice... Thanks a lot, buddy... Part# helps a lot. I got the car with sport package, does that mean that I have to buy the sport pads for my car? I think I saw in allmercedes.com that the front pads are different between sport package and non-sport.

I just about to order a set of rear break pads for my CLK350 with Sport Package. I read many of us here use akebono ceramic pads. I heard from a mechanic from Benz that OEM uses softer pads to retain the rotors while most aftermarket pads are harder than the OEM. I don't know if ceramic pads would be a better option to go compared to the OEM.
Do you think I should get Akebono ceramic for the rear?
Is there any sensor on the rear brakes? The mechanic said no sensor but I'm not sure.
Where to buy akebono?
Any DIY to change the rear pads?
Do I need rotor machining? Or just change the rotor since parts.com has them for $33 each?
Thanks

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
I think you should use OEM parts, but what I think and how big your wallet may be are two different things.
There should be one if not two. Only way, short of someone here who knows for sure, is to pull the wheels off and look.
Any place that sells them. TireRack has them. Wouldn't hurt if you supported a paid MBW vendor.
Take the wheels off, remove calipers, remove old pads, install new pads. You may have to compress the caliper pistons. Reinstall calipers. Reinstall wheels.
There's your DIY.
Sorry, crystal ball is still in the shop. But it wouldn't hurt.

Ultimately the decision is yours. Usually the younger guys recommend Akebknos and the older guys OEM pads. My mechanic also told me the ceramic pads will eat the rotors but I put them on anyway. Haven't had any problems, but I don't drive that much. I believe the rear pads have at least one sensor. You dot have to buy new sensors, when you receive the new pads you will see that some of them have holes. Those are for the sensors. You could reuse your old sensors. As for the rotors, it can't hurt to change them.

What has to be done during rear pads change? My mechanic charged $100 just for labour to change the pads and he said that it includes servicing. What servicing is about?

Any lubrication or other things has to be done? Do you know where to get a manual to change the rear pads? It's my first time and I'd rather spend other things than paying $100 labour only.

Besides anti-squeak paste there should be nothing else done. Bleeding the brake should not be required. It's not too hard to change the pad, I should be able to find one for you. Give me a day or two

No prob, the anti-squeak paste goes on between the shim and back of the brake pad. I would explain "bleeding brakes" but it might be better if you read it yourself.

the rear brakes are pretty easy. theres an lazy way to do them. i think it should be the same for the 350 sport. but you take off the wheel, and theres going to be a pin. put the pin to the other end the cage thing should come out. you can use the pad to push the piston back in and then slip old ones out and put new ones in. assemble the cage and align the pin back in.
and the not so lazy way is to take the caliper off. and do the same thing.
the anti-squeal paste goes on the backing plate of the brake. oh and i dont think you would need to bleed the rears yet.

Thanks
Anyway anyone have thoughts on the following:
1 - Will high quality ceramics stop just as fast, my sales person (also a friend) says no. Not sure I agree. The ones I put on my girlfriends car are great, very smooth and seem to stop very fast, though I'm not actually measuring the distance
![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
2 - Will changing the pads or rotors void my warranty. I couldn't find in the warranty book where it says it would.
3 - Who makes the OEM rotors? Zimmerman?
Cheers!

CLK350 Sport
I just want to order the rear pads for my CLK350 Sport Package. I found 2 types of akebono, they are AKEUR873 or W0133-1789399. Which one is for me?
The AKEUR873 just said for CLK350
The W0133-1789399 mentioned for AMG or Sport Styling Package.
I need help immediately please...
At parts.com, the brake pad for CLK350 has only 1 option, nothing else.
